A test run of a zombie-based RPG-ish variant of BrikWar rules I came up with.
About this creation
The rules used for this BrikWar are available as a Google Document here, and are fairly playable. Our level 1 characters could've used more Health and more people trained in firearms, but otherwise, the balance seemed workable.
Six surprisingly well-armed friends are camping by a lake, deep in the countryside. Thanks to the miracle of CB Radio, they receive word of a zombie outbreak in the nearest village, the tiny hamlet of Dakerstown. Unsure of the situation, the friends arm themselves and decide to warn the populace of the threat as they proceed towards town. Their mission is clear: they must somehow ensure that all zombies have been killed - never to rise again to threaten humanity - and flee the area by train.
An overview of how we first laid out our town. Buildings are represented mainly by their floor plans, with brown and yellow bricks serving as doors, blue bricks on the walls as windows, and yellow brick constructions representing furniture.
The police station, train station, and convenience store would comprise the heart of this rural town.
Farmhouses such as these would contain locals unaware of the zombie outbreak.
Our intrepid heroes: Ulysses Fitzroyce, Lorenzo Shooter, Dante Von Sing, Yale Corrigan, Emma Severus, and Daisy Lords. (It's handy to have an action hero name generator for such things.)
Zombies have broken out of their starting positions in the police station and train station and have begun to devour and infect the populace.
Meanwhile, the survivors have recieved word of the outbreak, and half the party heads to this house to warn their friends to take cover in the cellar.
The other half of the party warns the inhabitants of this house, and comandeers their truck.
The train station and sherrif's office are overrun, and the zombies begin making their way towards the convenience store.
As the horde begins pouring through the door of the store, the clerk grabs a shotgun and does her level best to fend them off.
An overview of the battlefield - the survivor's initial campsite and starting location is in the far distance, while town has already been cleared by the zombies.
As the zombies begin to batter their way through the store's stock room, the two teams of survivors begin to converge upon town.
The zombies and survivors finally meet in combat, and Ulysses Fitzroyce draws first blood! He...actually draws quite a bit more than absolutely neccessary, truth be told.
The zombies surround and overwhelm the survivor's fearless leader, and his comrades drag him towards a nearby farmhouse, which their friends have already begun preparing against the coming horde.
Ulysses, having been infected with the zombie virus, needs to be kept from reviving into unlife.
As several members of the team begin to take injuries and become bitten by the zombies, they begin to prepare a retreat from the farmhouse.
Significant damage was done to the zombies, but the survivors' ranks are dwindling - Daisy Lords falls victim to the zombies while the remaining four survivors lead the townspeople towards the house on the hill.
As the townspeople flee, it is easy to see why the survivors may begin to lose hope...
But Lorenzo Shooter manages to bolster morale by taking out two of the zombies with his "borrowed" truck!
Dante Von Sing and Yale Corrigan make a daring move by leading the zombies on a diversion away from the rest of the humans. After alerting the remaining townspeople, they attempt to reach safety atop a farmer's shed.
They reach the ladder in the nick of time, with a trail of zombies hot on their heels.
They climb the ladder and pull it up after them, but they have hardly found shelter atop the flimsy shed.
The zombies are slowly but surely reanimating, and battering down the walls of the shed.
Thankfully, the majority of the remaining townspeople have reached safety, and begin arming themselves after squeezing through the narrow entryway.
Things are looking grim for these survivors...
Until Lorenzo drives up and yells for them to climb in the back of the truck.
However, their salvation is short lived, as the zombie horde quickly masses around their truck and render it inoperable.
The survivors try to fight on the run, but are overcome by the sheer numbers of the zombie horde.
Dante Von Sing is the only remaining survivor outside the safety of the house, and is almost completely surrounded.
Dante and the remaining townspeople quickly flee through the nearby horse barn, heading for the farmhouse where 6 townspeople have taken up firing positions over the only way into the house.
However, even the combined firepower was no match for the concentration of zombies - slowly but surely, they progressed up the hill and managed to batter down the door.
This is really good nice work you must have put a lot of effprt into it.A little while ago you applied to join the group "ZOMBIE APOC" i will let you in but to improve your moc you should use a white sheet in the background (it makes it look more profeshional) but nice work mate your in the group.
