It was that time of the year again. The Rahi on the island went crazy once every year. The island was inhabited only by Matoran and Rahi, so the Matoran had to survive the rampage on their own, year after year.
All the Matoran on the island had gathered and were running to their specially built village. Nidahk and his friend Notuka had lost the group after a Nui Jaga ambushed them. It chased them, until they almost ran of a cliff. They had 2 choices: either face the Nui Jaga, or jump into the sea. When the Nui Jaga tried to hit Notuka with his tail stinger, Nidahk pushed Notuka away. The Nui Jaga barely missed, but destroyed a small part of the cliff. Nidahk fell into the sea.
When he regained conciousness, he was lying in a strange building.
Two Matoran were sitting next to him and stared at him.
Nidahk: “Where am I? Who are you?”
Matoran: “You are in Mahri Nui. I am Dekar.”
Matoran 2: “And my name is Defilak.”
Nidahk looked around. He saw fish swimming around, and strange plants he had never seen before.
Nidahk: “How did I get here?”
Dekar: “We don’t know. We found you when you were nearly dead. It’s a good thing the Takea Sharks hadn’t found you yet.”
Nidahk: “I don’t understand. I’m underwater, but I can breathe.”
Defilak: “When we found you, we immediately moved you here. I then installed a tube in your neck, so you can breathe underwater too.”
Nidahk: “Thank you both. Can you take me back to the island I came from?”
Defilak: “Unfortunately, we have no idea where that island is. And besides, it’s far too dangerous outside.”
Nidahk looked down, thought for a minute and jumped up.
Nidahk: “I will go by myself. I don’t care if it’s dangerous, I have to help my friends.”
Defilak: “Fine. But before you go, take this.”
Defilak hands Nidahk a strange device, and some colored balls.
Nidahk: “What is this?”
Defilak: “It’s an Air Launcher. You can fire special Air ammo with this. It won’t do much damage, but it’s still useful to have with you.”
Nidahk: “Thanks. Can you show me the exit?”
Dekar: “Sure, no problem.”
