The powerful and feared Blacktron SDO (Supply, Defensive, Offensive) Artillery Tank. Poll: Do you think the 2009 sets look good and fun?
About this creation
The next MOC should hopefully be up in a few hours.
A pose of the proud crew. Don't laugh, you'd also be proud if you controlled a 20 ton vehicle that could destroy everything within a 17-mile radius. From left to right; Biggie Boom (look in the northern part of the photo), Captain, Gunner, Driver.
A side view of the tank. Not much else to say.
Biggie Boom, close-up. You see this view, it'll probably be your last one. DID YOU KNOW? Around ten of these (fully equipped and stocked) can lay siege to an enemy city within the hour? Isn't that awesome (well, actually it depends if you're in said city)?
The marvellous transparent red cockpit with the driver of the Blacktron SDO Artillery Tank.
Each Blacktron SDO Artillery Tank has an automatic hatch (reinforced numinium) that opens at the touch of a buttom (actually its a series of buttons). Tssss...
The hatch opened and ready for one of several famous strategies of the Blacktron SDO Artillery Tank. This being that the tank stops on a cliff (or some other high terrain) a few miles away from the enemy station and a soldier from goes and lies on the hatchway with a powerful sniper rifle (with a range of 29 miles and a destructive radius from 2 centimeters to several miles) and shoots down well positioned enemy troops and communication antennas. Among the millions of results, some are annoying the living $^*% out of the enemy, blasting the living $^*% out of the enemy, kicking the living $^*% out of the enemy and killing the living $^*% out of the enemy. You get the idea. Let's take a look inside.
The cockpit controls. Nothing fancy, just navigation, steering, communication and fuel.
The reason these aren't in the actual tank is because it was really hard to get the quality right.
Something that seriously annoys me and is an art I haven't yet mastered is managing to keep your LEGO clean without actually washing it. Anyway, as you will see in most of my MOCs is humor in the shape of something digestible. in this case, it's a gumball machine. Each and every Blacktron SDO Artillery Tank is supplied with one, plus five extra packages in case they run out (if they do, they buy a new package at the nearest barracks)!
About time we checked what this particular unit was carrying. Ah, two database laptops.
In case they run out of gumball packages tehy can buy new ones.
I'm guessing these are supposed to be delivered somewhere. Ooh... gold idols.
Three drums of pure Octan Premium. Only the best for Blacktron! And finally, though you may have guessed it, two armoured crates of gumball packages! Ok, I may have overdone it a bit there.
The three crew members standing for a pose on the dawn of invasion. And Biggie Boom of course.
Don't forget to answer the poll!
My answer: I think the Power Miners were totally ripped off the Rock Raiders sets, but I think I'll get 'em for the pieces. I also think the farm and construction looks very promising. I also know that LEGO will be releasing Space Police again, so they're might also be hope for Blacktron sets.
A bit simple, but 5/5 anyway because it's just... cool. It has an enjoyable "toy" feeling in it, which I love. For the poll: I'm looking for Powers Miners and Space Police III (If TLC really make it) - Otherwise the new SW sets are not very good IMHO.
