Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier
About this creation
"I got myself into a fix,
I was pickin' woodland sticks.
The snow was frozen on the ground,
A pack of hungry wolves came 'round.

Bang, went Ol' Betsy, my one and only Betsy! I can travel far and wide with Betsy by my side!"

(Since this is a custom figure, there is a bit of glue holding the raccoon tail to his hat.)

Very nice representation, love the torso choice. I also like the dogs (not much of the legend part of it, but he used them for bear hunting according to his autobiography). Not to niggle, but that rifle appears to be an M1-Garand...WWII-era, and after....

yay I live in San Antonio, and I have learned a lot about him. He was accually pretty old when he fought in the Alamo.

Davy Crockett only started wearing a coonskin cap after an actor in a play about Crockett's life wore one as part of his costume. Before he became famous he wore a normal felt hat like other men of his era.

My boy Davy representing my Texas pride! Nice coon-skin hat! I added you as one of my favorite builders because us kids are some of the best builders on MOC pages and it takes a lot of work to compete with these talented adults!
