A revised version of the original first Captain Ahnee adventure.
About this creation
When I made my original Captain Ahnee story in November 2000 I didn’t even own a computer or digital camera. So I “borrowed” the digital camera from my work and took all the pictures one evening. I then spent several evenings at my brother’s house editing the pictures and adding special effects with MS Paint. The end results left much to be desired in terms of visual appeal. So, years later, I decided to revisit the original story and “clean up” the text and special effects. The story, in homage to Mark Sandlin's first Lego story, is still as goofy and ridiculous as before, but I think the enhanced graphics and improved dialogue make it look and flow a little better now.
The story is best viewed directly via Brickshelf here. That way, you can just click on the “next” button each time until the end of the story. When finished, come back to this page and check out my commentary for each scene plus a link to the original scene. Enjoy!
The original second scene wasn’t too bad. I had placed some lights inside the cabin to get the effect. However, I didn’t include a shot of the Grand Admiral arriving so the dialogue was a bit confusing. This scene fixed that problem.
The original scene didn’t show Mikey and Russell leaving the frame as Nibs bid farewell to the GA. So I squeezed that in along with a much prettier shot of the A-Wing Carrier as the GA whooshes away in his Spiffcraft.
I decided to delete the original images of the Adaloid home world and to put the bad guys in space on board the mothership. This is cheating since the mothership didn’t appear until the second story but it makes more sense putting the enemy on the move, since the Dipwads wouldn’t dare risk traveling through enemy space. Nobody loves donuts THAT much!
This is the best comic made out of LEGO®'s that I have ever seen! It's so hilarious, and the special effects are awesome! Just to let you know, you are my LEGO® idol, as well as my idea of a perfect builder. Your ships are the best creations one the face of this earth! My ambition one day is to build a ship like on of yours; awesome shape, good color, packed with details, the list is endless! I have built a small cruiser with an interior, but I don't think I will post it. -Your greatest fan, Dax (P.S. - How do you make a link to Brickshelf [The "24 photos on Brickshelf thing]. Please get me back on that. Thanks!)
'Rise and shine, Mr. Ahnee. Rise and shine.' (HL2-GMan) We have been waiting for this day for a long time! This is just cool. The effects are better than old George's. Please continue the saga. -Victor
