Vignettes are one way I express my social and political views. Feel free to discuss, but be nice.
About this creation
Titled "Extraordinary Rendition," the main photo above shows an American agent escorting a detainee through a compliant allied country to an unknown destination, where the detainee -- who will likely never see a courtroom -- may be tortured or even executed. We can hope that our country stands today at the doorway to a more compassionate, ethical era.

I Do
The right to marry another consenting adult and benefit from the legal and social benefits of marriage seems like a basic human right to me. The restrictions on gay marriage today strike me as no better than the bigoted, racially motivated "miscegenation" laws of the past. Do I support equal marriage rights? You bet I do.

On Vacation
When Hurricane Katrina struck in September of 2005, the President remained on vacation while New Orleans drowned. As the storm ravaged the city, he told his emergency management chief, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job!"

Quoting Kayla Rhodes (Inactive sometimes because of school) Interesting. Is this the same creation that I saw in The Cult of LEGO? If so, it's awesom that you got one of your MOCs in a book!
Yup, that's correct. Thanks!

I enjoy the first and last ones. However, I am quite disappointed in your support of gay marriage. Sad. The Bible makes it very clear that gay marriage is perverted and completely gross. Sorry dude about nailing you like that, but by saying you support homosexuality on this site is just asking for people to give you their 2 cents worth. nice job on the other 2.

Hear Hear Chris!! I live in New Orleans proper and when anyone says Katrina is anyones fault I know it's BS. Katrina was a friggin' hurricane, it was nobodies fault. It was our ex-governor's fault that she didn't get the National Guard in earlier. And we aren't "executing" our POW's. We are detaining them and then using harsh interrogation methods to stop terrorist attacks. And we have. We used information from so called "torturing" to stop a 9/11 like attack in Los Angeles. Calling water-boarding and sleep deprivation torture isn't correct. We water-board our Navy SEALS in their training. Personally, if I was captured by some terrorists, I would THANK GOD I was being slapped around and not getting decapitated on International TV.

well, im sorry, but i really dont agree with and i respect your opinion, just sayin mine. i live in the new orleans area, and to me, when people say things about katrina being "the president's fault" its kinda insulting somehow. i never heard about a vacation, but if he was or wasn't on vacation, what would he do about it really? use his super powers to drive back the storm surge? jump in front of the storm and use the force to push it back? i mean come on, we gotta be realistic, hes only a human. but please dont take this as an insult, just voicing my equal opinion :)
