Gandalf and the Witch King of Angmar face off at the shattered gates during the seige of Minas Tirith. One of the most dramatic parts in Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
About this creation
These are still shots from the short film created by Cyborgorc Productions, based on the scene in the book The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King. Definently one of my favorite parts in the book, it was sadly left out of Peter Jackson's film. Check out the short recreation over at the youtube page. More shots coming soon.
i just got the books for christmas and they are way different than the movie
im almost finished with the first book and cant wait to c what else has changed in the movies and books

ckson put that scene in as a deleted scene. Try and search it on youtube or buy the 4 dvd movie edition
I've had this response before. To correct you, a similair scene was in the extended edition, but of course was cut out from the final film. The witch king did not ride in after the gates were smashed as he did in the book, something I prefered. tolkien made a point of mentioning he was the first enemy to ever pass underneath the gate of minas tirith. and in the movie, gandalf's staff is broken, a ridiculous and weak addition to the story.
