The third and, one hopes, final version of the Lego Space Force Interceptor. With the previous two versions I had tried to keep size down, but the resulting ship was too short and stubby for my tastes. With this version I abandoned the attempt to keep the ship compact; you can see the design drawing closer to that of the Interceptor's immediate predecessor, the Phoenix Heavy Fighter, with its hinge-mounted sweptback wings and longer fuselage.
Top view. This is probably one of my better attempts at greebling.
Dead ahead. The two lasers on the top of the ship have been removed and replaced with a single beam cannon on the bottom near the nose.
Underneath. The six weapons pylons have been moved to the center fuselage; if they were mounted on the wing they'd be too low to the ground.
Landing gear shot. The landing gear mechanism has been retained almost unchanged from the first version of this ship.
Secondary engine pod detail. The engine pods have been lengthened to hold the wing hinge. I love the greebling on this part.
I'm a real fan of this and although the colors are still a little scattered, (don't worry, I've had the same problem) they don't take away from the absolutley gorgeous shaping. What I will critisize though, is your photography. It must be stressed that photography makes or brakes a MOC. But everyone goes through this stage, and here's a great article on how to improve:
Lots of improvement, but the 2 previous versions were already excellent, so this one is more than excellent ! Love the greebles all around (especially the details on the underside), the wings, the missiles ! You're a good space engineer, keep on the amazing work :-)
This is a significant improvement Ben! The coloring is tighter and your feelings about the larger size being better were right. Once again, the 'armed to the teeth' look of yours looks great and I'm liking the greebs as well.
