Off-Road Military Humvee
This is my first 10-wide model. I'm quite happy with it, and it looks good parked among my other cars (not too wide)
About this creation

Well, I've improved dramatically over my previous humvee. This model is 10 studs wide, giving it a more realistic look. Also, this one has 4 wheel independent suspension. Any 1 of the 4 wheels can be up to 4 studs off the ground, and the other 3 will remain planted on the ground. Other neat features: 4 "cloth" (light grey) removable doors, removable cap on the truck's bed, and a snorkel for fording rivers and such. Seats at least 6 minifigs (3 in the front bench seat, 3 in the back bench seat) not to mention the ample space in the cargo compartment. All in all, even though this Humvee is 10 wide, it looks good parked among my other cars. The only major flaw: anyone out there who has an older collection will share my frustration about the 2 different shades of dark grey. (you can see it in the roof especially) but since this is a military grade humvee, let's just call it camouflage :)

Just gravity, huh? The effect is great! Did I mention I also like the way you made the hood? If not, then nice hood!

Quoting Way 2 Fast This is much better than your first Hummer in my opinion! I especially like the pic where the rear cover is off... it looks like an H1. The biggest advantage this one has over the first one, of course, is the working suspension. Very clever! So, how does the suspension work? Did you use rubber bands, or shock absorbers from the technic sets?
Thanks for the compliment! I did not use any kind of shock absorber or elastic. Just gravity. The hinge is mounted halfway between a longer slender technic piece. When I lift the truck, the wheel hangs, and the other side the technic piece makes contact with the underside of the vehicle, stopping the wheel from falling after a 4 stud descent. When the Humvee is resting on a flat plane, all 4 "wheel ends" make contact with the truck, so the wheels sit higher in the wheel well.
