Comanche 2 copter that I made when I was 12. I'm 26 now, NOT BAD FOR BEING 14 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!
About this creation
Ok, say to yourself what you want about this model, but don't be a jerk and say its stupid or that I didn't make this when I was 12, cuz I did and DARN PROUD OF IT. Back when the game Jungle Strike came out, I was like 10 or 11, but I thought WOW that game has a Cool Helicopter in it, AND IT WAS THE COMANCHE!!!, and also at the time my brother(which bought the game) worked at Boeing, in Corinth, TX. He brought me pictures of the real Comanche, cuz I LIKED IT SOOOO MUCH!! Well anyway, My building skills with lego weren't good enough to make a realistic one, so I tried my hand at making the one from the game, but my lego pieces I had at the time were limited, basically just normal bricks(mostly RED)so anyway, it came out ok, but was kinda blocky, however, the verson you see here, is the Comanche 2, which is bigger and better than the orginal. Unfortunatly the orginal is gone because its parts were used to make this one. I do though, although somewhat slightly different from the first one, mainly the color(white) have a comanche 1, It is a Police version I made a couple years after Comanche 2. I Felt my Police needed an Attack Copter of there own, and still remembering how the old one was made and didn't have the parts to build a second Comanche 2, I made the Police Comanche. I'll put the pics of it at the bottom of this page. Please Rate this model, as I would like to know how its design holds up, to the tests of time!!!!
It as 4 20mm cannons, 2 for dog fighting, the other 2 for everything else. Bi-stub wings for extra armament. Including, but not limited to, 8 laser guided missles(standard), and 4 optional missles mounted on lower stub wing.
The (camera-looking-things) on lower wings are the laser designators for the main missles.
The Comanche 2 was kinda expensive to build, I say that because I didn't have 2 of the parts needed, THE BLUE WINDOW AND THE BLACK ANGLED FRONT PIECE. At the time of building it there was a set that had the window, a space set that came with 2 of them, it was some kind of vehicle that had a space ship that would separate from it, both vehicles had the window on it, and it retailed for about $21 or so(cheap enough)Had to save up for awhile, the black part came from a jet boat, it was under 10 dollars. So Yeah, that combined with the rest of the parts, it not cheap after all, or well back then it wasn't.
Also a neat trick I learned back then, some of you may know, but to make rotors spin easier, especially big heavy ones like mine, put a drop or two of 3 in ONE multipurpose oil on the rotor mount, I oiled the one on this copter almost 14 years ago, and not even dust has fouled it up, it still spins great with little effort.
The Tail Rotor isn't like the real comanche at all, due to the lack of lego never producing anything that would look like it, and me not having the parts to try and make one.
You Can see here the differance between the to versions, OH and the reason it has no blades is because I needed the black plates to build a Large sized F-150, don't have that anymore either, it was kinda neat, had opening doors, hood, a V8, monster tires from an R/C Car, and could fit two Technic Men(remember those)and unfortunatly no pics of that.
One of the lights on the roof is MIA, but it was there. Armament is 1 20mm cannon, and launcher pods for 4 missles(only 2 are shown). It did have a blue window, but needed it for a car, so thats why there is a yellow one.

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I just noticed your comment! Thanks. Yeah, its pretty good, can't say I agree with the color scheme, though. Anyways, good job!
Well, thanks!! Considering I made it when I was 12 and am now 26, yeah its pretty good I think, the red and black color scheme came about because of the lack of legos and colors availiable back then. Your 13, this model has been around almost as long as you!!!
