Front view showing simplified control arms, and relative distance from car body to wheels. The bodywork around the driver is narrower than in previous racecars.
Size comparison between driver and car. The scale is almost just right for the figure!
Rear suspension, exhaust, and tapered engine cover.
The new sloping nose, and small scale wheels. The center of the wheels previously used a connector found in City minifig scale vehicles. With a Technic bolt as a replacement, the wheel can be adapted for larger sized vehicles.
While looking for a new way to build thinner, more realistic open wheel cockpits, it made sense to work on a way to improve the driver's safety cell at the same time. This construction resists breaking in front , rear, and side impacts.

Very smart usage of putting pieces sideways - love the side pods and safety cell!
I love Formula Ford in general :)
I'm going to build one in a bigger scale, we'll see about how that turns out.
Thanks! That's great, can't wait to see what you build!
