I loved watching the old style CART racers/Champ Cars when I was young. After discovering how Champ Car-like the new nose design on the Formula Ford looked, and the triangular shape of the piece used for the roll hoop, I decided to create my own, updated version of this racing car.

This model has working steering!
Size comparison between driver and car.
The small angled pieces attached to the roll hoop protect the driver's head
Showing what's under the sidepod cover. Interior parts do not extend the full length to the bottom. Air is channeled underneath the car and forced over winglets at rear for downforce. The silver bit is a radiator grille.
The side profile shows the re-imagined lines of a classic racing machine
Rear view showing mounting of rain light incorporated into support for the rear wing.
A closer look at the steering. Those robot hands with arms have finally served a useful purpose!
A detail shot of the rear suspension.
The safety cell or "tub". Inspired by the one used in the Formula Ford (Its predecessor), this safety cell uses a one piece, angled baseplate for its base, making it ideal for crash protection.
