Here is the second incarnation of my supercar series...
About this creation
Right, a long awaited update arrives! awaited by me if not anyone else...lol
Here it is in all it's attention seeking glory...
Chassis - Very and i reiterate, Very loosly based on the ferrari enzo chassis from the previous model, but particularly re-modelled and lightened/ strengthened.
Engine - i decided to go whole hog on the engine for this one, so designed a W16, much like the veyron, minus the turbos.(does have the white tubes for intakes, and blower heads in the centre.
suspension - i dropped all resemblance to the original solid suspension, and modified the original steering to accept moving arms and a horizontally mounted spring/damper setup. the rear module for the suspension is of my own design, and pretty much the same geometry of the front... here you can see it in a cutaway pic.
interior - very basic, one seat, and a set of flat dials, but steering via the steering wheel this time, no hand of god in this. (was unhappy with how close the seat was to the wheel, but would've had to compromise the engine to fit it all in.
exterior - based on the racing versions of the lancia stratos and the lancia montecarlo, with the arches moving with the wheels, so the suspension never bottoms out in the arches
well, that's it for now, i'm working on a v10 mid-mounted car, but going slow atm, let me know what you think of it...
So inspiring! By the way, I'm working on my concept idea right now on Lego Digital Designer but I think I need more reference(s) of mid-engine super cars' chassis(especially the ones in Technic or Lego at a large size with functions). Can I see how you made your suspensions?
beautiful design! This is very aerodynamic, sleek, low profile with a great stance. The detail is very well done including the cool looking engine mounted in a mid-engine layout with is pretty magnificent. Can you please give/make instructions so I can make mid-engine race/sports-cars like this(plus I'm working on a Hot-Wheels-ish concept truck MOC that's also a mid-engined vehicle inspired by mid-engine super-cars with the front half look similar those cars with the mid-engine half way in the cabin then I would put a small truck bed making a hole so it can be mounted on the back while having some space around the engine so it can mostly at least look the part for a "truck" from the rear half while the front half looks like a super car).
