This is my third MOC since emerging from my (building) dark ages a year ago. It's an experiment in building micro-scale, as practice for making background buildings for another project. It's intended to be a small slice out of Jefferson City on the planet Ziyou, 1400 years in the future. Jefferson City is the setting of a series of stories I plan to illustrate with LEGO®.
One of the main ideas here is that buildings of the future may appear very much like something from contemporary Earth. For example, I live in a colonial-style house that was built a year ago; the colonial style has been around for a few hundred years. While traveling in China, I saw a neighborhood of recently-built houses that were obviously Victorian-inspired (although the exteriors were done with tile, so they had this rather odd sheen to them...)
Inspirations: Vegas. If you could build just about anything you could conceive, and the city had little or no zoning laws, what would you end up with? Something like Vegas, I'd bet. Other inspirations were Hong Kong/Taipei/Shanghai.
On with the MOC! Loading the whole page was taking a lot of time and memory, so I split it into parts:
i was having the worst day ever so i decided to look at legos made by othe rpeople then i saw this set and it did 2 things 1 it made me happy again 2 it inspired me man ur work is sum of the best i ahve ever seen
Whoa. Micro MOC's on a grand scale. You've done such an outstanding job on creating such an intricate society of the future. Add that to the fact that you're working on a difficult scale and you've got quite an impressive MOC there.
exelent! ya know, this probably isn't too far off from what's to come in the next thirty years or so. the size of the page really messed up my computer's speed, but it was worth the wait. this is a really cool MOC.
i can't beleive that someone could crete such a complex world with such small peices
it truly is a great effort and i can see that you have put a lot of work into this project!
