HMS Invincible R05 (Pre-Refit) . 1:323 Scale Lego model of HMS Invincible R05 complete with Sea Harriers and Helicopters . Here is my 1:323 Scale model of HMS Invincible R05 which is currently in reserve and docked at Portsmouth Docks. I was inspired to design and build this model by Malle Hawkin's 300,000 piece USS Harry S Truman. However unlike Malle I didnt have the money, space or time to build such a large project, I wish I did, but unfortunately I dont. So instead I decided to build something a little smaller, well ok allot smaller! As you can see, in addition to two working flight deck lifts, there is also room to store several aircraft in the ships flight deck, which can be accessed via the hinged section of the flight deck. This Invincible measures at the flight deck 65.5cm L x 14.5cm W and 5cm H She was originally designed in LDD I then went onto to buy her via the Lego online store for 151 (including shipping) Since buying and building the 'Vince' as the real Invincible is known, I have added a few decals mainly the deck markings and flags, I have also made a few small changes from the original LDD design but these are very minor and dont effect the overall design. She is currently equipped with 4 Sea Harriers and 2 non-descript Helicopters, Helicopters can be moved between the Hanger and Flight decks via the forward lift only, however the Sea Harriers can make use of either lift. If you like my model, please stay tuned as I am in the process of rebuilding some parts of the ship to make them more accurate to her real-life counter part, these include; modifications to the radar systems, additions and changes to the Goalkeeper CIWS gun turrets, modifications to the aft engine stack, the addition of a loading crane, additional mounting points on the flight deck for aircraft, as well as other small improvements.
