4-Engine Cargo Plane (Power Functions) . This 4-engine cargo plane uses 6 ea. Medium Power Functions motors to rotate the turbines and taxi down the runway! . With an 18" (46 cm) wingspan, this 4-engine cargo plane sports huge turbine fan blades for heavy lifting. Six Medium Power Functions (PF) motors are used -- one for each engine and two for taxiing down the runway. The motors fit neatly into #40345 Technic Bricks (6x8, open center) via long Technic pins passed through the frames and into the fronts of the motors. Each of the front wings used 4 ea. of these #40345 Technic Bricks, and the fuselage used 7 ea. A pilot minifig is behind the windscreen. Two PF remote controllers operate the motors powered by two PF battery boxes. Gears on the two main landing gears independently power the wheels, and a rear caster wheel under the tail pivots the plane nicely. Here are some details about other interesting Lego pieces used in this MOC -- get them from 4 ea. #53983pb01 Very Large Turbines (from the Lego Exoforce sets) -- these measure about 3-1/8" (82 mm) in diameter! 2 ea. #64782 Technic panel plates, 1x5x11 (new in 2009 for Hauler Set #8264), used for rear wings 4 ea. #62531 Technic panels, curved, 11x3 (used for wing flaps) 4 ea. #32555 Technic bricks, 5x5, right angle (1x4-1x4), used to secure the two battery boxes. This MOC uses both "studless" and "studded" construction.
