The collection at the year 2009 . After Heather's, Lee's and Phippy's post I decided to contribute my share to the sorting madness: a well deserved update of my Lego-collection! . Since recent we have a new bigger kitchentable, hooray! Long live IKEA!! No more moving the bricks from one side of the kitchen to the other. That means I got the old one for my newly installed lego lair aka our library aka the master bedroom. BEHOLD! My own laboratory of big and small plastic experiments! (go on Chris, say it!) The working table of a Legogenius...ahum...back to the ground with your feet there boy...and...touchdown! The selection by colour. Lot's of new colours have been added to my collection since 2007 due to the new StarWars sets and some interesting deals on E-bay. Yes: E-bay! From top to bottom: 3 kinds of green (light, normal, dark) that will need more space and sorting. The drawer I like to call the Zoo: flowers, trees and animals. Normal bleu. Yellow, very much added after that Aquanautsset I found for a bargain. White. And black. Slopes are excluded, go see the slopes-system! Old grey. Bleu grey. Dark grey. Red, that will need sorting too into a slopes-system. Orange. And a new colour I like to call: Bordeaux... Brownies. Pink, purple, mauve, violet, fuschia...Golden pieces. And the new kinds of bleu, light and dark. The other selection. These drawers mostly involve minifigbusiness. Print ons, cocpit interiors. "Handles" because minifighands can grab'em (shut it Phipson). Everything droids and EXO-bots. Bionicle parts: about seven of them, people! FINALLY! The minifigs sorted out! Heads and hats. Needfull things for hands and shoulders, even some footwear. Bodies. Pants. The other, other selection. Some things are thrown together in one drawer because they fit more to a theme, a technique or an application. Again, from top to bottom: One studded rounds, antennae and tentacles. Bigger round things. Engines, boosters, propellers. Wheels and tires. Technic black. Technic all colours. Technic Yellow. Big whities. Technic pins and rotational thingies. Exo hinges. Basic hinges. Turntables. "Sideturners" as I tend to call them. Creator hinges. Transparents and canopies. The slopes-system! It's very helpfull (personally) to select my slopes by color AND sort. That is sloped plates, slopes above, slopes under, curved slopes and sloped on the side. I'd love to do this for every colour, in time, no hurry. so! White slopes. Black slopes. Dark grey slopes. Organizers! A very handy method for storing those little pieces that are hard to spot in the big mess. And they save a lot of room too. My collection of Technic pieces has grown, allthough I don't use them a lot. Reason for this lies with the EXO-force sets. They have great pieces, especially the slopes, but they don't do much for my buildingstyle. Yes, I'm oldschool... Tiles, grills and no studded pieces in general. This organizer is temporary untill I get more tiles or a handier way to store them. One studded pieces. I put them all in a row to make them easier to fondle. Planning on adding the translucents too. Obnoxious parts. To big to fit in a drawer or a "parts-theme".Owww, you wait! One day I'll get them little @%?!# From left to right: Baseplates, plates and random basic bricks. Particulary the basic bricks still need sorting by colour. I've had my eyes on those bigger drawers Phipson has in his collection. Yes, those would do the trick... Booklets. I tend to look in them for new and old buildingtechniques or just inspiration. Thanks for looking around, leave a message if you care about my collection!
