Through the Gates of Madness . Inspired by LEGO's Adventurers themes and H.P. Lovecrafts Cthulhu Mythos stories: this is Cthulego! . Delta Green agents traced a delivery of stolen ancient Egyptian artifacts to the northern Californian town of Arcata and the grounds of Kadath & Son Refrigerated Storage. The recovery of the artifacts seemed easy at first, re-con was undertaken and a sniper position set up in the tree line. Then seven trained agents entered in a covered truck. Unfortunately the agents entered during some kind of pseudo-religious ceremony at which the ‘mummy’ was seen to become ‘re-animated’. A short gun battle followed during which the mummy was restrained and held captive with the assistance of Professor Warren Bedford using knowledge gained from an ancient tome. The mummy was loaded onto the truck and the agents rammed through the gates of the Refrigerated Storage yard to escape. Their accounts are somewhat muddled from this point, though most surviving agents agree that some kind of creature, perhaps more than one, was involved in an attempt to block their way. Also several claim to have seen some kind of flying ‘Things’ equipped with exotic weaponry. All agree the intervention of a mysterious stranger from the rooftop of the Kadath and Sons offices was instrumental in clearing their escape route. Agents Thunder and Reed have tendered their resignation from Delta Green and returned to their previous occupation of ‘Explorer.’ Both were last seen boarding a tramp freighter heading out into the Pacific Ocean. Elder Things: “Rigid barrel-shaped object[s] with thin horizontal arms radiating spoke-like from a central ring and with vertical knobs or bulbs projecting from the head and base of the barrel. Each of these knobs was the hub of a system of five long, flat, triangular tapering arms arranged around it like the arms of a starfish.” – H.P. Lovecraft. The Doctor and Captain Jack lend a hand. Nyarlathotep: “A tall, slim figure with the face of an antique pharaoh, with prismatic robes and crowned with a pshent that glowed with inherent light… the fascination of a fallen god or archangel, and around whose eyes there lurked a capricious humor.” – H.P. Lovecraft. Johnny Thunder!! Built: June 2009 Set: sometime between 1930 and 1950.
