General Kenobi, I know the voice is familiar and the face, even more so. This is Trooper Serial Number 33-417-6R." "Not even a name anymore, is it? The others have taken to calling me Sixer but it’s not the same." "I’m addressing this to you because you are the one Jedi I could always fully trust.” “I know I’m a just a soldier, and shouldn’t be having these thoughts. I was bred to fight and obey orders, not to wonder and question. But I do.” "According to the reports, we should be flying out any moment. The Seps have launched an attack on Coruscant and kidnapped the Chancellor." "They're coming in hot! Sixer, watch your starboard!" “My wing and I are only a cog in the wheel. Fodder for Vulture pilots. I’ll complete my mission but then… I’m done." "There must have been some kind of malfunction in my basic training, but I just can’t do this anymore. I understand that the penalty for going AWOL, but I’m willing to take the risk.” "Oh fu...." “I will fly my last mission to the best of my abilities. When the battle is over, I’ll set the stick in my V-wing and ditch somewhere over the city. Then I’ll hop a rusty old freighter to some back water country in the rim. By the time they figure it out, I’ll be long gone.” “I know you will be turning this recording over to my commander but it’ll be too late. You saved my life once and I’m truly grateful. I’m sorry I won’t be able to return the favor. Take care of yourself and even though it means nothing to me… may the force be with you.” BOOM!!! “This recording came for you sir, and Commander Cody is waiting to brief you on the Utapou situation.” “Thank you. I’ll get to it while I’m outbound.” “Very good sir.” “General Kenobi, I know the voice is familiar…” “The face, even more so…” Creator's Notes: Where do I start? First off, Steef, your build is the bee’s knees! I can’t believe you got that done in a week! I knew I’d never be able to do a Star Wars build like that. I was kind of hoping that you’d go that way though… When I first read the story I was a little upset. I didn’t see how this story would give me that chance to be creative. I didn’t want to build MOCs similar to the “official Lego sets”. I’ve seen SO MANY Star Wars MOCs, I didn’t know what new ideas I could bring to the table in the traditional Star Wars Universe that hadn’t been done before. Also, I was unhappy about getting a similar category 3 times in a row (Short Story, Sigfig Adventure & MOC Me a Story). I wanted to take this somewhere builders hadn’t ever gone.. Well, actually Geogre Lucas did it first. He cut a lot of the starfighter battles from old fighter pilot footage. Eureka! Star Wars as World War One! I can make the ships into bi-planes! Star Wars has always been about the vehicles for me. The designs are innovative and astounding. My three fighters are based/inspired by the V-Wing, Vulture Droid and Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter. I tried to take parts of them and move them around into a bi-planesque shape; hence the tail of the V-Wing and the gun pods of the Vulture Droid. I wanted to keep the story as intact as possible since Chris (el Judge-o) provided a great one. A few minor changes had to be made, but I don’t feel they’re significant (ha! I didn’t even need that photoshop exception). I hope this MOC inspires builders to take Star Wars in new directions, or at the very least make them consider what makes Star Wars… well Star Wars. I’m sure I pilfered many techniques, but I would like to note that (and maybe someone else did it first) the bullet technique is from Eggy’s Round II creation. Thanks for looking/reading, and congrats (at the very least) to my opponent for an AMAZING build.
