Burg Stolzenstein . Fantasy Era Castle - Burg Stolzenstein - built for Bricking Bavaria 2009 in Munich, Germany . We built this Fantasy Era style castle in 2009 for the AFOLs event Bricking Bavaria 2009 in Munich, Germany. Well - "we" is not really correct. This is the first project which was mainly driven by Annette. Because we usually create Moonbase modules, we built the castle in 9 parts on big baseplates (48x48). Well - we left the corridors away ;) It is a fantasy castle. Annette made the big plan. She defined what a real castle absolutely needs: Drawbridge, moat, defence towers, chapel, stables, great hall, pillory, etc. I had to build all the basic rocks and walls - very diversified work ;) Annette created the buildings and towers. She also brought the whole thing to life by adding knights and people. After I finished the water she also added all the plants and other green stuff. This castle also features our first ever use of power functions: The drawbridge and portcullis are remote controlled. I'm proud, because at the exhibition Bricking Bavaria it worked for two days before it broke! We hope you like the castle! More pictures can be found on Flickr and Brickshelf And here is a short video of the castle at the exhibition Bricking Bavaria 2009 (10.7 MB). Thanks, inof, for sharing!
