“Noo!” shouted Blast. A gust of wind blew the sound away but the U.R.S. still heard Jelli’s screaming as she fell and Iadsgb’s laughter as he watched on. Time seemed to slow down for the onlookers; it seemed as though everything was happening in slow motion.
Jelli’s terrified scream, the way she was falling, Iadsgb’s laughter; but then suddenly time sped up when Falcon ran forwards, shouted “MOVE!” shoved R.K. to one side and dived headfirst after their falling friend.
“Well, well, well. Two birds with one stone!” Iadsgb taunted with a cruel smile but then when a shot from Fixer narrowly missed his leg, he yelped and stopped laughing.
But down below them all, Jelli was still falling but Falcon was closing in. He was now only an arms length behind.
He stretched out as much as he could; his fingertips just scraping Jelli’s leg. But then with the help of a gust of wind he grabbed her by the waist, pressed a button on his wrist, turned them both head up and they blasted back upwards on his Jetpack.
“Aargh!!!” Jelli screamed but on the platforms above, nobody heard above the cheering. Iadsgb stood sour faced, watching on in annoyance.
But the clapping and cheering soon stopped at the three words that Padfoot shouted next.
“IT’S A TRAP!” he ran up next to Blast, who spun round and looked at him.
“It’s a trap! Behind us! It’s The Desolation!” Padfoot pointed behind them and because the boarding ramps hung below the ship, you could see both sides of the cruiser, so as Blast and the rest of the team looked, there was The Desolation; new and improved, floating a few hundred meters and as they watched, hundreds of fighters flew out of it’s hangers and headed for them. Suddenly thousands of lasers flew at the U.R.S. They were trapped in-between two F.I.S. cruisers!
“I could have sworn I destroyed that!” Blast mumbled then yelled “Quick! Inside!” and the leaders turned and ran into the ship while opposite Iadsgb strolled casually into his.
“Launch all fighters! Fire back at The Des’!” Blast called orders as they all jogged towards the bridge.
Down in The Manipulator’s huge double hanger, the troops were clambering into their fighters and shooting out into space to battle the F.I.S.. Hundreds of ships were launched to counter the enemy’s surprise attack.
Back outside, Falcon was still flying back up towards The Manipulator’s boarding ramp. The Calm’’s was now closed but the U.R.S. had left theirs open. The pair touched down onto the ramp and Falcon helped Jelli inside.
They stopped just inside the doorway and Jelli collapsed onto the floor. Falcon punched the ramp close button and turned and knelt by his friend as the ramp shut behind him.
He shrugged off his jetpack and helmet then gently picked up Jelli’s tied hands.
“Here.” He said quietly and untied her hands.
“Thank you.” Jelli whispered rubbing her bruised wrists. She looked up at Falcon and found him looking down at her only a few inches away. There was an awkward pause and then slowly Falcon lent down a bit more and Jelli closed her eyes and stretched up just as a huge blast rocked the ship causing Falcon to fall over and bringing an abrupt end to their little moment.
“Um…” Falcon said embarrassedly, getting up then pulling Jelli to her feet,
“Er…” she replied.
“Come on. Blast left your helmet on the bridge.” Falcon rammed on his helmet, grabbed Jelli’s hand and they ran off together towards the bridge.
BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? FIND OUT IN PART 8! COMING 2ND FEB!
