HK416 SOPMOD kit w/ EVERYTHING . The HK416 SOPMOD kit comes with: under barrel Grenade/shotgun, grip, 6 iron sights, laser sights, and more! . So as promised, here is the HK416 SOPMOD kit that I mentioned in my previous HK416 page. I made this the day that Jack Streat posted his wonderful instruction page, although I could have done it without the instructions. It's a wonder I had enough black parts to make the attachments all at once! Again, sorry for the bad quality of some of the pictures, but I currently have a bad camera, and holding it still is neer impossible. Anyways, enjoy!
The overview of all the attachments. Sorry for the blurryness.
The Iron sights are all interchangeable, the last set of sights was on the rifle in this picture.
From top to bottom: working laser red dot sight, working laser, fore-grip, and fake red dot sight.
From top to bottom: Ammo (Just some black 1x4 bricks with a 1x4 studless tile on top), under barrel grenade launcher/shotgun, and special surprise (more on that later).
The flip-up reer sight with nifty tire front sight.
Flip-up sight up...
...And down. You can use my other larger sights with the flip-up sight down.
The adjustable sights. As my good friend JasonTreeville from YouTube tells me, I was NOT the first person to think of something like this, but since I did come up with it by myself, I don't think I need to give credit.
The adjustable sight in the lowest setting.
And in the medium setting. This is still a bit of a prototype, so if you put it in the highest setting, it tends to fall off!
The fake Red dot sight. I say fake because I just sharpie'd a red dot on an old windshield.
The Red dot sight works best with the standard front sight.
And this is the aforementioned standard sights. The open-ness of the front sight makes it work well with the other types of sights.
The REAL working red dot scope took several trips to Google Images until I figured out how it works. The dot does not project that well, but considering that I made it with LEGOs, I really like it. That cable connected to that little box is the Fiber optic cable that LEGO put in some of the old EXOForce sets. The box is the actual light source and fits on the side rail.
When off this is what it looks like.
That bright red light is NOT the red dot, the dot is at the end of the scope when looking down it. The way it works is that there is a reflective LEGO window at the end, which reflects the image of the red dot projected by the cable. The cable is what is shinning brightly. I still need to think of a way to mask that red light, but I don't want to use more sharpie.
The fore grip. Note that it is made with an even amount of studs.
And the fore grip on the rifle. Fits anywhere on the lower barrel.
This is how I made an even amount of studs connect to an uneven amount. Just put 12 black jumper plates (http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=jumper+plate) on the top and you win. I used the same technique for the top of the gun so all the sights can be even studded.
My new Grenade launcher/shotgun. It works by putting a normal 1x4 brick in the front of the barrel, lifting backwards, then pulling the cocking handle back and then forward. Then just pull the secondary trigger located neer the magazine to fire.
The grenade launcher on the gun. It fits nicely under the barrel of the gun.
The inside of the launcher. It is the same as the old closed bolt system that Jack Streat came up with a while back. I just got rid of the bolt-feeding system, and the magazine and voila!
Launcher with a red bullet inside the chamber. The cocking handle is back.
And cocking handle forward, ready to fire.
The real laser pointer inside a LEGO box. Just plop it on the sides or top of the barrel.
What the laser looks like on. It was running low on batteries when I took the photo, so normally it is a bit brighter.
The double mags just need some pins...
...Then take the other magazine and put it on top. I case you couldn't tell, both the mags are empty. I didn't feel like loading them for the photos.
A cool-angled photo of the double mags in the well.
That surprise I mentioned earlier was really intended to be a joke, a HK416 with a G36c integrated optics carrying handle. This one is for you alone Jack. As you can tell, I took the joke a bit to far...
Just like on Jack's model, it has built in sights.
And a little FPS action here.
And that is it! All my current attachments for my HK416 SOPMOD kit. I still have more guns to post, so come back often! Also leave comments and reviews.
