SGR-6H Singray-6 Hydro Mech . Number six in the bio-mech line by Dr. Whackemoff, the Stingray is a multi-role strategic fighter. Based heavily on its older brother the Fer-de-lance 5 Jungle mech, it shares many of its best characteristics (chassis, speed, agility, armor rating, and cockpit design). What makes this hybrid so unique is that it functions equally well while on land or under the water! All of its systems (weapons, sensors, thrusters, heat sinks, etc.) have been customized with multiple compensators for real-time transition between environments. With the Stingray now added to the arsenal there is no place that is safe from the steely claw of Dr. Whackemoff and his fiendishly delightful bio-mechs. . A gratuitous action pose. Right Side Front Left Side Back Close-up of back showing the engine and wing assembly. Thanks to its “Chameleon Computer System” and specially designed wings, the mech gives off a radar signature of a giant manta-ray while moving through the water. Leg mounted ballast tanks allow the Stingray to take on water so it can surface and dive like a conventional submarine as well as walk normally while underwater. It also packs a short-range missile 2-tube (SRM-2) launcher on each thigh for that extra punch. A new hand actuator has also been added for the first time allowing this mech to carry disposable hand held weapons. Here we see the Stingray is carrying the R-74 Ruger heavy machinegun. Each pull of the trigger fires either a single shot, a three round burst, or a full ten round spray from its 120 round clip. Torso shot showing a close-up of the 2 small auto cannons mounted on each side of the cockpit. A 500 round magazine is located directly beneath each gun and is shielded by heavy armor plating to prevent accidental explosions. The primary weapon is the Ballista-X series hyper velocity auto cannon. It’s mounted on a 360 degree rotating turret and can be fired accurately up to a range of 2.5 kilometers. This gun fires a projectile that travels more like a guided missile almost 5X the speed of sound. A favorite tactic for the Stingray to employ is to bring the barrel of the gun just above the water line and fire on unsuspecting land targets before slipping back underwater and undetected. No sneaking up on this bad boy as the cannon can fire accurately here as well! Each forearm carries the Stingray’s stingers in the form of a twin pronged electro-tazer. These weapons deliver a 750,000 volt blast that overloads the enemies’ circuits and rendering them utterly helpless. Another gratuitous action pose. Cockpit closed. Main cannon turned sideways for better view. In this model the flip down interface has been replaced with a full bubble screen built into the canopy and all of the primary data is gathered through an optical sensor just like the one on the Archangel mech. Cockpit opening, stage 1. Cockpit opening, stage 2. Yet another gratuitous action pose. Still another gratuitous action pose. Stylish alternative of the classic action pose. All right already, we get the hint. Sheesh! Kickin’ back and soakin’ up some rays. Can life get any better?
