Death Racers! . Since I'm a judge in this contest, this is not an official entry. I was just trying my hand at what I thought might be cool. 'Judging' by the result, I might give up everything else... Built for the large and trackless deserts of Terra Antithesis' death circuits, the X-factor is very suited for its environment. Whether standing on its own or used to quarterback for a race team, the X-f is a potent opponent. Though strictly banned and harshly punished, the Death Races hold a certain allure to the bored or over-stressed soldier of the TPC, and, though rarely, the UNE soldier. .
The 'X-factor' is and old converted tractor/tanker that has been fitted with a V2580 Supercharged 3.0L injection juggernaut of an engine that has replaced the entire cargo compartment. The 2.5-inch cannon is a long-range killer that can reach out and touch someone at the goodly distance of 450m, not bad for a non-elevating gun.
For rearward protection, the X-f has a 20mm minigun that should be able to take out the lighter opponents. The X-f has three reverse gears to allow speedy back-ups. Additionally, controls are placed so that the rear gunner can drive in a pinch, perfect for taking out heavy opponents without loosing too much positioning. Not much protection is afforded the rear gunner, so he must eliminate targets quickly.
A full intercom system allows for complete coordination between crewmen. The X-f is protected to the max from 'minelayers,' (vehicles that dispense contact mines or grenades to take out trailing opponents) only the tires are susceptible to such attacks. The only vulnerability of the X-f is its lack of agility; hence, it has a slight weakness to rocket attack. But its size can be misleading, and at long distances even high-velocity rockets might not catch it.
Drum-roll please! Ladies & Gents, for the very first time, I introduce greebles on one of my MOCs! I know, first time? But while greebles look good, they aren't practical on an aircraft like I usually build.
It's sorta sad, but this MOC has the most articulation that I've put in a model since my AC-222
Here you can see the same greebles, a little better. Observe the air filters and intakes. As well as the oil lines and other such things. I'm sorta proud of them.
Rear gun has over 110 degree traverse.
What are you lookin' at?
