Lego Herbie (scaled 1:10) . . After watching the 'Fully Loaded' Herbie movie, my daughters persuaded me to build a Herbie from Lego. I liked the idea and chose the Nascar race version as a base. I browsed the web for some pictures and used the Exlusives set (10187) as a design base for this moc. After some research i found out that the Lego Beetle 10187 was not exactly what I needed to make this car work studless the way I had in mind, so I changed the whole thing radically. Roofline, bodywork, arches engine and interior were all radically changed. To make the race looks complete I added a rollcage, fire extinguishers, special air and fuel tanks and rear spoiler. The special race exhaust is a nice feature too, together with the big racer wheels. Normally I tend to be very serious on exactly replicating and detailling, but this has been more of a 'loose' build for the fun of it. Still I like the result quite a lot. I hope you do too!
