Type 2 Stealth Cruiser . A true Nordic warrior. . Designed for 21st Century world and used there and in Diplomats and Legions. The Type 2 cruiser is the next step forward for Scandinavian navies. Replacing small frigates and complimenting foreign vessels, these versatile tools are the core of task forces. Similar to the current, real world, UK Type 45 destroyer, a heavy emphasis in the Type 2 is to be the most effective AA ship in the world, using highly advanced missiles with a 175 mile range, and a positive detection range double that. In addition to its large compliment of SAMs, it also carries various cruise missiles, as well as torpedo launchers, a fully automatic 5 inch cannon, and two CIWS. In addition, its SAMs can also be used to target incoming missiles. While not specializing in it, the Type 2 is a thoroughly effective ASW platform, combining very good passive sonar with efficient rocket-assisted torpedoes. Its main radar is housed in the central structure.
