Engine 2 . Engine 2 operates this Pierce quint. . Engine 2 is a Lego model of a Pierce quint Arrow XT. A quint rig performs the functions of both a pumper and a ladder truck. Quint (meaning five) because this truck has a pump, water tank, hose, ground ladders, and an aerial ladder. As with all the rigs, this one is designed to be as accurate as possible in minifig scale. The ladder extends, the stabilizers on the back can be folded down, and storage compartments hold a variety of rescue and firefighting equipment. As with all my designs, the goal for this was as much accuracy as possible in minifig scale. The ladder extends, the stabilizers on the back can be folded down, and storage compartments hold a variety of rescue and firefighting equipment. The toughest part of the design was allowing the ground ladder to be stored inside while still allowing space for the compartments. To make the design tougher, the section over the wheels is built upside down and the stairs at the rear had to also fit. Custom chrome wheels were ordered online through Bricklink.com.
