25th century mech series - Galaxy 0 - 2611 scout mechs ldd . part of the 25th century mech series . Model Type: Scout Faction: Imperial Registration series: SC/2611 & SC/2611-a Weapons: Plasma rifle / twin vibro-blade description: Designed for speed these fast small scale mechs are able to get in and out of hostile regions with data vital to imperial security. Able to take out larger opponents from a distance with their plasma rifles or tear down minimal defences with their bladed arm. Known Weaknesses: spindly design is best suited to low gravity environments, clumsy and unstable in normal Earth type gravity fields. History: During the latter half of the 24th century, the imperial faction grew up amongst the outer colonies. Serving the self-proclaimed emperor of the galaxy, the imperial faction saw Earth as their ultimate goal for conquest. By the early 25th century they hold most of the western edge of human colonised space and are making in-roads to capture the core. Though independent and Earth aligned colonies see the imperials as a threat, they frequently trade with them under temporary cease fire arrangements. The scouts were created primarily so that the imperial forces could maintain a presence in hostile territory without having to establish bases there. Able to get in and out, almost un-noticed, they represent a shift in the imperial tactics from force, to stealth. But when called upon these small agile mecha can defend themselves and even take out much larger machines. Their gold and white colour scheme is favoured by imperial forces, however camouflaged variants can often be found for specialist missions. Creators notes: I've had it in my mind for some time now to start building new factions within the 25th century mech universe. We already have some alien, pirate and Earth defence force designs and this was an attempt to create something different. The principle influence here was function, this thing had to be quick. Speed over fire power. The colour scheme originated from Dr Who, where the imperial Dalek faction was briefly gold and white in the episode "Remembrance of the Daleks". Combat and space units to follow when I've brainstormed some ideas. What I do want to do differently this time is to create "super scale" mechs. That meaning mecha that while in the same scale as other 25th century micro mecha, are BIG, I mean city or battleship sized. The imperials former battle tactic was force, force and more force, so they seem like the perfect faction to demonstrate some REAL fire power. Taking on board the suggestion from Rabid Goldfish, I've added a heel spur to create greater stability. (I've included pictures along side the larger Imperial Sentry class)
