G1 Wheelie, Autobot, V.1 . . I noticed that several of the MOCers here have been posting Transformers from the original animated movie lately. Having already lost my chance to be the first to post a transformable Arcee, I wasn't about to miss being the first to make _someone_ from that epochal film. But who? My choices narrowed down to Wreck-Gar, and Wheelie. So, figuring Wheelie to be the easiest, I got down to business, and you see the results before you. This is only the prototype. As the internet is not generally a place that respects "dibbsies", I figured it was better to post first, and refine later. Aside from the need to acquire certain pieces in the right colors, there are many other problems that need fixing. For starters, the proportions are way off. On the other hand, the original toy had giant gorilla arms too. But at least the original arms would stay up rather than dropping of their own weight whenever a strong breeze hit. I'm also not happy with the stud holding the back and front halves together in robot mode, but I already have a few ideas on fixing that. The only parts that are removed during transformation are the hands. Perhaps I should say, the only parts _intended_ to be removed, as the legs also fall off easily. The part I'm most happy with is the head, as I think the way it joins with the windshield in vehicle mode is rather ingenious (he said humbly). The thing that I'm least happy with is the size, as he's not really to the proper scale with all the other Transformer MOCs that have been posted. But hey, I got to be the first at posting something! So far as I can tell, this is the first G1 Wheelie MOC ever posted in all of teh interweebs, though I look forward to seeing any other versions that get posted. Special thanks go to Chris Roach, as I was loosely inspired by his Bumblebee and Cliffjumper MOCs. I didn't take any design elements from them directly, but his work did reassure me that at least this sort of transformation was possible.
