The Mines of Moria - LOTR . My contribution to the BW2011 mocpages collaborative build. . Alright ladies and gentlemen, here are some pictures of my contribution to this yearís collaborative display at Brickworld 2011. The Mines of Moria. The Mines are built in the old dark grey, with the Misty Mountains as the back drop built in dark bley due to parts availability and the contrast in the lighting between the Mines and the Mountains. The first set of pictures shows the Fellowship as they enter through the Western Gate, and is meant to look as if it has only been halve carved, with much work still left to be done. Gollum hiding amongst the rocks. The next is the Hall of Pillars. Finally, cut scene to the fight in Balin's Tomb (Battle of the Chamber of Mazarbul). I will let the pictures tell the story. Thanks again to everyone that was involved with special thanks to George for the idea of a mocpages collaborative, Chris for the LOTR idea, Tyler for stepping up to the plate and fixing so many elements of the display, Maddie, Dano, Mrs. Price, Kelsy for building the army (plus the random teens that helped as well), Tylerís dad who builds like a champ, Mark for painting the map, and to my wife for putting up with me in my hobby. Everybody else - you know you rock. I won't bother posting more pics of the collaborative, as there are already so many great one's out there. I will likely post some on my flikr though. Lastly, sorry for some of the disorder in the pictures, and the differing lighting - they were taken onsite, and the lighting was a bit sketchy sometimes. As for the order, was in a bit of a rush so I could get the house cleaned up after dumping everything from the truck into the upstairs living room. Bricklink
