MO: Round 1: FALL of Mankind . . MocOlympics Round 1: My category of choice: FALL MocOlympics main page Sin. It’s an ugly word, but the word itself is a bouquet of roses compared to the stench behind its meaning. The FALL of man was the beginning of that sin on earth. Sin begins with rebellion and a rejection of God's word, and is portrayed here at the moment Adam and Eve, the first two humans, succumbed to temptation and defied God. Eve: Here, Adam. Try this. Adam: Sweet, baby. You know, I’m gonna blame this all on you later. Snake: Yesssssssssss. Biblical reference: Genesis 3:1-6 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the other wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the women, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. I could go on and on about the spiritual dimension of this build. This week, I throught through half a dozen mini-sermons I could include here, but I'll focus on the Lego. I wanted to make the garden as lush as I could manage, so I went for as big a variety of plant forms as I could think of. Althogether, I spent 12 hours on this project, plus 3 hours on ideas that didn't pan out. The tree was frustrating at times - getting the branches to stay put, and sticking all those little leafy things together. The dark leaves inside the tree are meant to simulate shadows. They certainly helped fill out the tree, too. The reflection of the tree in the water was inspired by Sean Kenney’s Trump International Hotel and Tower. Kenney displayed the reflection of a cloudy day on the face of the tower – it’s unbelievably beautiful. MocOlympics main page Thanks go out to my wife, who let me sleep in twice this weekend so I could pull late-nighters. Thanks to God, who provided a remedy for our fallen condition. And thank you for viewing!
