MocOlympics R2: Stormbringer vs Nick Nitro Brick . You need to tame the beast if you want to play it.. . For the 2011 MocOlympics My opponent, Nick Nitro Brick and his entry . First off I want to apologize to the judges for making another dragon. I really wanted to make something different outside of my comfort zone during the contest. But musical instruments?! Gaah! The best part of thinking outside of the box to me is some of the bizarre ideas that come into mind, and of course I just had to add some kind of twist to the category. I came up with the idea of dragonizing the guitar, after seeing some inspirational custom instruments elsewhere. The guitar is mainly made up of SNOT, which was really annoying to accomplish due to frustrating uneven gaps. Originally I was going to have two small dragon head mosaics at it's shoulder, but I didn't have enough time to perfect it. Unfortunately because it's full of SNOT and has no proper stability, it would break apart if I were to pick it up and play (plus it would bite me). (Luckily I don't think I'm being judged on that, err.. maybe?) A closer show of the dragon's head. In the next round I "promise" not to make another one. Thanks for viewing my work everyone! It might not be my personal best, but I think it works out. Oh and sorry for the bad background, I didn't want to completely ruin the photos with Gimp. Good luck to everyone, particularly Nitro. Here's the link again - MocOlympics , in case you didn't see it.
