Technic Semi 8285 Modified . . 8285 Modified Modifications: Shortened frame Added springs and different steering to front Drive line added to both rear axles Took off Wrecker, and added 5th wheel plate Added rack behind cab, and mudflaps I Left the Hood, and cab alone for the most part. I had to make some modifications to the hood to fit the springs. This is the rear suspension system, based off the leaf springs of a real truck. This is about the third suspension system I've put on this truck. The first was an Adjustable air bag type system that worked fairly well, but left the drive system weak. The second used rubber bands, but was unrealistic. My friend came up with this design, and I implemented it in my truck. These are the drive motors, 2 M motors hooked together for drive. In the picture below you can see a motor sideways, with a worm gear drive attached, that is for the steering. Added 2 sets of lights I also built the Trailer from the B model of 8285, but found that the Low Boy hitch would not lift very much, and so I redesigned the Hitch, and added another pneumatic cylinder. I also added another axle to it. I also made a better deck for the trailer. Between the two modifications to the trailer, It will lift a 3lb weight on the center of the deck, with minimal bowing of the deck.
