Scauldron . Deadly httyd tidal class dragon. . This is my third How to Train your DRAGON creation, and I am happy to introduce you to the tidal class Scauldron. This dragon only makes a cameo in the film, but you can see it better in the Book of DRAGONS short film. I bought most of the pieces to this set a long time ago, but my first attempt was not very good. I especially disliked my original head. Now that I have started making mocs, I decided to go back and completely remake it. I like the way it came out. In the film these dragons are fairly dangerous. They spray their enemies with boiling hot water. Since they are a sea dragon, they do have a very long neck (this allows them to crane their heads above water). My models neck is sort of flexible. They do not look very intimidating from the front. They have very small teeth and horns. The truth is they don't need them. They can easily use their scaulding spray or fast swimming skills to outdo most land or air based opponents. This is a shot of the body. Scauldrons drink huge amounts of water and boil it in their stomachs. When they are full their stomachs swell, and they increase their mass by almost fifty percent. My model shows a Scauldron on almost empty. They look rather weird full. Here is a shot of the models tail. Not great, but it does the job. The dragon uses its tail to out swim even the fastest ships. Here is a shot of Hiccup with a Scauldron. This shows the size difference, and shows that Scauldrons, unlike Exterminators, can be trained. I hope you liked the moc. I know in the short that Scauldrons are turquoise, but I don't have any pieces of that color. I chose blue over green. Thanks for taking the time to check the moc out. Please rate and comment. p.s. I will be posting either the Tongue Twister or the Changewing next.
