Rebel Transport . A big heavy duty ground transport with an awesome giant gun that can carry a whole bunch of minifigs. . I know, it's a big box on wheels. That's the point. We had a friend's daughter over for a sleepover one night and she made a big box with big wheels. No doors, no windows, and no roof. When I saw it I thought, "I would never have made something like that. It's so incredibly simple yet so big and awesome that every kid wants to play with it." I asked her if I could make some modifications and she graciously said I could do what ever I liked. I took the opportunity to completely rebuild it to make it sturdier and give it a few fun features. To this day it is the first LEGO creation that my kids pick up. It has transported minifigs, dinosaurs, Littlest Pet Shop pets, Disney Princesses, superheros, you name it. I've even had to break up fights over who gets to use it. I take it as a compliment :) This brush guard has knocked over quite a few things. It has an overall rugged tough look. The color scheme is purposefully mixed up to make it look like a well used Star Wars Rebel vehicle. A shot of the rear hatch. Opening the latch at the top allows it to fall down and a ramp automatically extends (thanks, gravity!). The gun can turn completely around and flip over. The front and rear both open for easy access. The roof comes off easily. A peek in through the rear hatch showing the minifigs seated and R2 under the gun seat. The turret can spin around even when all the minifigs are seated. The walls have gun holders. It looks like Leia's having a bad hair day. A look at the roof removed with the turret and seat. Showing the rear hatch and ramp closing. The turret was made from part of the micro scale Falcon. A simple latch keeps the ramp up. The ramp can handle being dropped down. A view of the cockpit. Another interior view.
