Trade Federation Homing Spider Droid . Disclaimer: this moc and it's saggy ball is dedicated to Chris Phipson :) . My favourite vehicle from the prequels! Well this idea didn't work out quite as well as I thought it might--there's not quite enough support for the death star sphere when it's only attached from behind. The pressure from the legs makes the ball sag down a little and the legs want to spread out and do the splits. Still, it stands up ok, but it's definitely not a playable Lego toy! Some faults: I would've preferred to use technic axles for the legs to stop them bending but I've only got one of these in bley. There's ways around it but I'm sick of fiddling with it! These would've made a nicer dark grey "thigh" with a long tile on top but I only have two of them. I took me ages trying out different designs for the "eye", not sure if this is the best fit? Nice to add something to my Star Wars folder-it's been a few years between mocs! The rear showing how the legs are attached to the sphere. Thanks for looking guys!
