Transformers Tutorial - Building Concealed Weapons into Transformers' Arms . Although this should be a pretty easy thing to figure out how to do, I figure I'd do a tutorial on this anyway. In the movies, animated, the new series Prime, and even some characters back from G1 have had weapons that take the place of their hands. This tutorial demonstrates 1 method for accomplishing this without the removal of parts. . Here you can see by leaving a cavity open in the arm, you can leave space for the Hand to switch with the weapon. You should build the cavity to the size of your weapon, but in this case I kept them to the dimensions of the hands. The Weapon fits into the same dimension of space the hand does. You CAN add a flap to the bottom to keep the arm looking pretty, but remember this may not always work with larger weapons. But in the case of this small cannon, it works just fine. -Arm with the flap closed -Arm looking pretty -Arm example 2. This arm contains a small "SledgeHammer" of sorts. As with its size, This arm has no cover flap. Rotate the arm to reveal the Hammer Full view of the Hammer arm - hand fits perfectly into the cavity (Same size cavity as the gun arm). Hammer rotated to a more battle/field ready position I'd hate to cross paths with this battle ready transformer! Here's how this system would work with someone like Optimus Prime. His hand areas are not very wide, but they are rather tall. You'll see why in a sec why he has 2 different hands. For Optimus, you could use this system for transformation purposes. One side has the hand, the other his headlights for vehicle mode. Here's what it looks like in vehicle mode formation. Not bad right? There is only a few small gaps around the lights - but those are necessary for the transformation. Now verison 2 for those who like a more "traditional" style. Simply pop the Hand off - open up the arm flaps and vwola! Optimus' Energon Axe! Rotate and fold the blade down and Boom! Optimus Prime is ready for battle! That's all!
