Little Timmy's Big Gamble . . Team Intrepid MocAthalon Group Category: Dog Ate My Homework Little Timmy walked into the elevator of his high-rise apartment, in Las Vegas, where he lived with his family. He pressed the up button, and the elevator closed its doors and rose to the 12th floor. He got off the elevator, and walked into the hallway. The door to the apartment opened and his mother stood there, hold a crisp $100 bill. She told him to take it and go to Zabarsi Grocery, to pick up a few groceries, and then take a taxi home. Little did little Timmy know that he was about to to take a big that could get him grounded for weeks... Little Timmy walked down the street, after taking out his cap, with the folded up $100 in his pocket, towards the grocery store. On his right was a casino, as he lived in Vegas there were many around him, suddenly a brilliant (or not so brilliant) idea struck him. Why not take the money and make some more? He had heard several stories of people walking out with a hundred times the amount they had come in. So he advanced toward the door. The bouncer stopped him in his tracks, saying "Kid, you can't come in until you are 18." Little Timmy was about to walkaway, but a voice came from behind him. A genial looking gentleman told the bouncer that the kid was with him. The bouncer nodded and Little Timmy was allowed in alongside the man. The man was a famous Poker player, and in several minutes had taught Little Timmy the basics of Poker, than Little Timmy turned in his $100 bill for chips and began to win every table he played at until he had amassed several thousand dollars. He was approached by another Poker player, would said he wanted to go one on one with the new champ. Little Timmy hopped up on his stool, and bluffed until he got some good cards. Then he went all in, and his opponent did as well. His opponent laid down a pair of 7's and a pair of 5's along with a ace. He smiled. Then Little Timmy laid down his hand, four kings and a ace. He had won the big pot. He knew his mother would start looking for him, so he took his winnings to the cashier and checked out. He bought the groceries with some of his money, and took a taxi home. His mother greeted him, and asked what took him so long. Little Timmy answered and showed the money to his mother as proof. Little Timmy was promptly spanked, and given a ten-minute talk on the dangers of gambling, bad stewardship and unhelpful risk taking. Little Timmy went to his room and prayed. He asked God to forgive him, and promised he would never do it again...but this is not the end of our story... The next morning Little Timmy's mother announced something to him, as a result of his winnings they where going on a vacation to Hawaii! Little Timmy danced around the floor, then rushed off to his room to pack....50 hours later, Little Timmy and his parents were spread out on the beach on Maui. Little Timmy built a sandcastle as his Mom and Dad chatted. Then a young man walked up, and introduced himself, he said his name was Evan(Lego Junkie or [LJ], whole lives in Hawaii), and asked if he could get take a picture to post on Flickr. They agreed, and on further inquiry found out that Evan was a Lego hobbyist, but for some reason he didn't seem to like Little Timmy's cellphone photos of his rainbow colored creations...Little Timmy resumed his castle building and his parents talked to Evan about places to visit, and he recommended Pearl Harbor, and the Pearl Harbor Air Museum. During their week-long stay they did just that, and even went to Evan's house were Little Timmy managed to smash his latest creations for the MocAthalon, some type of Lego competition online. Little Timmy hopped on the school bus, after returning from Hawaii, and rode to school. Once there he attended several classes, and when his teacher asked for her's students homework, Little Timmy realized he had forgotten to do it during his vacation, which was a result of his escapade in the Las Vegas casino. As the class filed out of the room to go to lunch, his teacher pulled him aside. "Where is your homework, young man?" He explained what had happened to him, and the teacher listened attentively to his story of the casino winning, vacation, etc. When he finished the teacher looked him straight in his eyes. "That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard", she declared, " not only did you fail to turn in your homework, you lied to me!" "You will have detention for the next two days after school!" "But, but, I told you the tru-" The teacher uninterrupted him saying,"Thats enough lies from you, young man! If you say anymore I will have it extended to four days!" Little Timmy nodded and shuffled off to lunch... A few hours later, Little Timmy was sitting in detention, next to a punk gangster. He was doing his homework, and as he reached down to pull out another pen, he spied a photo in his backpack. His mother had given it to him that very morning, as a reminder of their vacation. Then an idea struck him, he jumped up and smiled, then opened the door, and found his teacher, who was grading their test. He handed her the picture and waited. She thought for a while, then said,"Okay, sorry about that, I guess you can go home now," she paused,"oh, and you just flunked this test." Poker Table: I DO NOT CONDONE OR APPROVE GAMBLING AND THIS IS NOT MEANT TO GLORIFY GAMBLING OR ANY OF SAID BEHAVIORS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total build time of all scenes was about 15 hours. Enjoy and God Bless!
