Glamis Class Mech . Glamis Class Mech -- Variant B . The Glamis Class is a old and venerable mech in long use on New Caledonia. It is nearly seventy years old but has seen various upgrades over its time in service. Interchangeable weapons systems ranging from pulse cannons, to missile launchers and twin turret flechette/projectile weapons make the Glamis B a versatile and highly effective weapon system with speed and mobility to match. The current upgrade is the installation of the (MRIP) Magnetic Resonance Interface Pilot control and operations hardware systems. The MRIP or “mind-ripper” as it is nicknamed, uses magnetic resonance to read the brain of the pilot and to convert those signals into commands the mech interprets as operational modes. The resonance is bi-directional as well allowing the pilot to "see" through MRes optic nerve stimulation and to "feel" in the same manner. Over time the MRIP interface has come to boast the fastest response times and durability excepting only systems that use direct interface or purely cybernetic-organic continuity interfaces. While not the biggest or even most powerful mech in the HUB, the Glamis B is a "shelf built" mech with easy part availability, easily maintained even in the field and can deliver it's payload with speed and accuracy. The Glamis is also used as a search and rescue unit and can be fitted with spot lights, crane lifts, and a wide range of equipment to fulfill S&R missions. The Glamis was designed to combat ground forces and emplacements. The twin turrets can rotate even to take out targets directly under the unit. The use of these turrets removes the necessity of a "pelvic emplacement cannon" or PECr gun for close in defense. The Glamis is usually accompanied by mounted infantry or AIRGV units.
