M12 LRV 'Warthog' . The scene here takes place during the Halo Reach mission 'Tip of the Speare', and it focuses on one of the units that didn't accompnay Noble Team. . The M12 Light Reconasaince Vehicle, commonly reffered to as the Warthog, is a force application unit commonly used during the Human-Covenant War. The Warthog's suspension allows it to traverse any terrain type easily, with obvious exceptions (oceans, lava, space). The Warthog can seat two soldiers, and the turret can be operated by one (the troop transport variant can hold seven soldiers). The turret can effectivily annihilate enemy infantry and light vehicles, it is also usful against air units. In this fight, the M12 has company: a squad of Marines and two Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. The fight has casualties; soldiers, who fail to find cover, are cut down by Covenant Plasma. The squad leader does his best to give effective orders. The 'hog will definately help them to win this skirmish. A Marine Sniper is perched on a broken bridge. He has a view of the entire Covenant line. The two ODSTs are fresh from their drop pods. The trooper to the left is weaponless and uses the weapon-cache's panel to block enemy fire. This Marine just wadded through the river, so his uniform is wet. //Fourth Wall Comments// Figs removed. The build here wasn't going to be too awe-inspiring, the main focus is the Warth-og (that's how I pronounce it). The broken bridge, there's one i very Halo game except CE, so I included it here. I like how it turned out, especially the supports. Bridge rubble was kept to a minimum because I thought it would clutter the build too much. The river. I've seen them made with transparent light-blue studs, or blue tiles. I combined the two to make a current effect. My tan collection is small; that's why the river was included, to fill space. I built fancy edges for the heck of it. If I were to bring this to a convention, the title could go here (I'd probably call it Battle Creek). The left, the right side is a mirror image of this. The weapons cache has, from right to left, an MA5B, one SOCOM Magnum Pistol, and two MA25s. The cover doesn't work too well, it can only fit when weapons are removed. Now unto the main fous of this: Certain modifications were made between this post and the "I Hear a... Car" MocAthalon entry. Tow hooks/tusks were attempted, but the the result was too ugly for my taste. So I added a grill of sorts in their place. The interior was altered as well, and the turret platform was played with a bit. The back end features a bumper, turret, and handles to access said turret from the sides. The sides, which I am very fond of, have a unique aspect: the diagonal 1x2 tiles. The hood studs were left un-covered simply because it would look better as is. The rear, not much to say here except "look, tail-lights". The interior has 'okay' details, but once I extend the length in the mid-future, I can the steering and consoles with better variants. The turret, with three rotating barrels (ignore the fourth please). It was inspired a bit by Brian Last-name-I-can't-pronounce's. Those grill parts on the back aren't accurate, but they look great. The bottom is bland, but you rarly see it. However, if you see it often, hire a new driver. When I was setting up the display boards, a certain someone decided he'd sprawl out on them. I took a picture and included it with this MOC because, you know, why waste it. Rate, Comment, and tell your friends, I want to get out of this slump I've been stuck in.
