Caetissa was a young Ga-Matoran from New Metru Nui. She was exceptionally bright, and an excellent strategist. When playing Kohlii, her team nearly always won. It came as no surprise to anyone when she was selected by the Order of Mata Nui to become a Toa. She seemed like the ideal candidate: strong, brave, smart, and eager to please. She happily accepted the offer, and spent the next few months training.
After finishing at the top of her class at the Order’s training facility, Caetissa was assigned to a team of four older, more experienced Toa. She felt slightly out of place, but her mentors were confident that she would be competent with working in an experienced team. Caetissa felt obligated to make the other Toa of her team proud and accept her despite her novice status. She did everything she could to make the older Toa happy, but they seemed to think of her as a bit of a showoff. Nonetheless, she persisted in her attempts, and vowed that she would be the hero of their first assignment.
Caetissa did not have to wait long, and the team was dispatched to investigate a disturbance at The New Pit. The Barraki had been missing for years, so the team was shocked to hear about the disturbance. If it was indeed the Barraki that caused the disturbance, their team would be in great danger. Caetissa, however, was incredibly excited. When they arrived at The New Pit, all was quiet. Caetissa saw the other Toa hesitate at entering the large tunnel, and she took the opportunity to impress them by volunteering to go first. After about a hundred yards, however, there was still no sign of trouble. Caetissa turned into a smaller cavern, and began to search the gloom for clues. As she entered, however, a gigantic Venom Eel burst from the shadows and blew past her. She stabbed at the beast with her spear, but the Venom Eel kept going, only moving out of the way enough to avoid a lethal hit. The Eel collided with the wall of the cavern on its way out, causing the ceiling to collapse. Caetissa was alive, but trapped in an underwater prison.
Minutes passed, and she assumed that her team would be able to defeat the Venom Eel quickly considering the fact that she wounded it. When they did not dig her out, however, she began to wonder if they had managed to defeat it. Days passed, and she was still trapped. With no way to escape and no light, Caetissa was left to only her thoughts. Weeks, then months went by, and still Caetissa brooded on how her team had failed to dig her out. She began to think that they simply left her for dead after they defeated the Venom Eel, and she grew bitter. The darkness and the strange properties of The New Pit fueled her anger, and with her anger, she too grew. After two and a half years, her head suddenly hit the ceiling of the cave. Suddenly aware of her size, Caetissa began to attempt escape. Her massive limbs pushed the rocks away easily, and she saw the light for the first time in many months. Her thoughts were not on the light, however, but the Darkness.
Caetissa swam to the surface, and went to a small fishing village on the coastline. She inquired about her team to some of the workers at the dock, but they ran away in fear. Angered, she stormed into the village and demanded that somebody would tell her about the Toa who abandoned her. Nobody could answer, and many were simply paralyzed with fear at the mutated Toa who stood before them. Caetissa lost her temper, and destroyed the town with a massive surge of water.
News of Caetissa’s rage met Shakahv’s ears, and he insisted that she be brought before him. A group of Dark Toa found her near the village she destroyed, and they sedated her and brought her to Shakahv’s canyon. Shakahv spoke to Caetissa, and promised to destroy the Toa that abandoned her in exchange for her loyalty. Caetissa agreed, and worked for Shakahv until his downfall.
When Shakahv was defeated, Caetissa left him to serve Zethlin as a member of the Apocalypse, the renegade band of Dark Toa that abandoned Shakahv. She grew to hate all Toa, and, seeing Shakahv’s inability to eradicate her old brethren, she abandoned him. Along with the rest of the Apocalypse, Caetissa followed Zethlin to the island of Monte Nui, where they allied themselves with a bird-like species known as the Dirvum. Together, the Apocalypse and the Dirvum created massive Citadels; castle-like vehicles that could carry an entire army and eradicate even the most defensible city. These Citadels were not only large and well-armed, but they had an amplification technology that allowed for a Kanohi mask’s power to be greatly amplified. Zethlin acquired many Masks of Reanimation, and with the power of the Citadels, he and the Apocalypse were able to raise a vast army of reanimated corpses. Thus began the Campaign for Spherus Magna.
Caetissa was given charge of a sea-faring citadel, and with it, she captured or destroyed hundreds of port-cities and Toa-controlled islands and vessels. None could stop her, for Caetissa’s ability to strategize in addition to her Citadel’s great strength made even the most powerful Toa fall. That is, until she met Nuxen.
Caetissa laid siege to a well-fortified port city under the control of the Order of Mata Nui. The battle was going well, and the Toa were in full retreat. For every Toa slain, Caetissa gained a new soldier for her reanimated army. However, she did not know that the port she was attacking had a secret underwater dock, where Nuxen of the Toa Lotem and two Zatth-wearing Toa were loading a submarine with explosives. The three Toa set off and advanced towards the floating fortress that Caetissa commanded. When the defense turrets targeted the submarine, the two Zatth-wearing Toa summoned hundreds of species of aquatic Rahi that swarmed the Citadel, concealing the submarine and protecting it from the undersea cannons the Citadel was equipped with. With great speed, the submarine closed the distance to the Citadel, and landed near a hatch, where the three Toa entered. The Zatth-wearing Toa each took up satchels of explosives, and Nuxen began to fight his way to the bridge.
As the two Toa began to place charges, Nuxen arrived at the bridge of the Citadel, where Caetissa was commanding the legions of undead soldiers with the Citadel’s enhanced Tryna. Caetissa whirled around, and, disconnecting from the Citadel’s command station, she charged towards Nuxen. Nuxen was strong, but Caetissa’s mutant form was unstoppable. Nuxen blocked a thrust from Caetissa’s spear, but he was bashed with her shield so hard that he was sent crashing through a window and onto the main deck of the Citadel. He bounced back, but Caetissa was upon him already, and delivered another blow that clouded Nuxen’s vision and sent him stumbling. As Caetissa prepared to obliterate this nuisance of a Toa, the two Zatth-wearing Toa, now free from the satchels of explosives they once bore, charged Caetissa from behind. They slammed into her, knocking her to the Citadel’s rail, but she kicked back violently, sending the Toa flying into a dense array of pipes. The pipes dented and broke, and the pair of Toa crumpled. Nuxen, however, saw that one of his fallen allies still clutched in his hand the detonator for the charges that the Toa had placed. Nuxen sprinted towards the fallen Toa, but as he reached his friend, Caetissa had created a massive orb of water with her elemental power. She hurled it at Nuxen, who immediately sent a powerful surge of Red Lightning at the projectile. The seawater flashed red, vaporized, and ignited with a powerful burst of flame. Nuxen was thrown over the edge of the Citadel, but Caetissa was thrown onto the main deck. Nuxen activated the detonator that he retrieved, and watched from the water as the Citadel and Caetissa were destroyed.
Here's the build! This version of her is before she was mutated in the New Pit.
She is probably the least feminine of the three Fe-MOCs I have built, but I like her very much.
Arms. Since Hero Factory doesn't have any Dark Blue, I had to use system tiles for that clean, feminine look.
Legs. Simple lower legs with custom upper legs.
Doesn't she look cute? No? Well, she's a bully, so she doesn't deserve it.
Back view. Chains for hair!
Flying ninja action pose!
Her shield, which I'm very proud of. Go system!
Spear. Like the hand guard?
Thanks for viewing, and for taking the time to read the story! Let me know what you think! Stay tuned for more Apocalypse members!
