Gorast, The Disruptive (Bio-Cup 2012 Eliminatories) . . This is my entry for the Bio Cup 2012 eliminatory round, with the theme of a revamp of an official bionicle character, who either has an official set or an image reference. It didn't take long for me to pick my set for revamping. I chose Gorast quite immediately while reading the round theme. Although aside I considered also making a piraka, but... you know, humanoids aren't my thing. For Gorast, I made her an improved insectoid look, by adding additional wings and giving her a stinger, which is actually her Nynrah blaster. Below is an image of the original set and her biography can be read here. And here she is! Quite an improvement for the original set, eh? While building this I concentrated more on the body design. I wasn't really capable of doing much for the arms, for I tried to keep her feminine appearance. Along the creation I also used some new parts I hadn't utilized yet, for example the part her lower arms are attached to. Her stinger can be fold to the back, but isn't really as insectoid as it should in this stance. For human proportions it works well though, I was surprised my self how well it tucked back there. Her stinger more officially is on the front. This was a tad Beedrill-ish inspiration from pokemon. It was a fun idea though to make the Nynrah blaster a stinger. This stance is pretty much an attack mode of a kind. Just imagine Beedrill and you'll get it. Flying. For the next 3 pictures I had to leave out some of the image edits, so the wings could actually be seen. Too bad they disappear due to their transparency while editing. Flying stance from the back. Flying attack mode. Death from above as they say, that stinger is quite a nasty weapon.Well, I actually made it. Bio Cup is something I really don't wanna miss, although my computer's broken. In the end I decided to use my mom's laptop, although I don't trust it much. It's so slow that I expect it to break down any moment now, but still am surprised that it still keeps going. My summer holiday is starting very soon, only this week left. Last exam tomorrow, field trip on thursday, etc. I'll be having a lot of free time, but too bad some of my plans crashed along my computer. I was quite motivated to start writing a story about the Elemental Universe on deviantart and play some minecraft. Oh well, I can build more now. I'm somewhat planning to create a biography of Monarth's species, draken. Might take a while to build a representative of each element though. Oh well, I guess they'll be lighter designs. Anyway, I hope you like this creation and leave some comments and rates below. To be honest, I sometimes feel a little underrated here as I don't too often surpass 20 likers, but oh well, I'll keep on mocing. Now if you excuse me, I have a history exam tomorrow. Time to open the book...
