Post Apocalyptic Town . Hello again fellow Lego maniac's. This is my Post Apocalyptic town/outpost.
This is something i've been wanting to do for awhile now, its something thats always intrigued me. I mean not just in the sense of lego and creating, i always have dreams about living in a post apoc world, like 3-4 nights a week without fail. Maybe its been the sheer amount of films i've watched or maybe its because i go about my daily life always thinking of a world after WW III or a a world after a fatal virus like influenza although on a much larger scale. I know its been done alot, but its definitely one of my favorite categories, and here it is my very first Post Apoc Moc~
Overall view of the Diorama from the left side up. I don't have many figures that resemble or look like people that would be within a post apoc world, so i had to make do with what i had. I rearranged a lot of my minifigs to make them look more suited for the theme. Keep in mind that i didn't want to make everyone look like a soldier, just normal people brought together in a harsh reality.
This is the outpost on top of the second floor. The guy on the left mans a mounted machine gun as the other guy keeps a look out with a sniper rifle, a spare rifle is kept with them.
Full view of the second floor. I tried to create the effect as if there used to be walls but they were blown down during attacks. This floor shows most of the towns adult inhabitants, who plan the towns survival tactics and send people out to gather resources. In the top left hand corner is the towns water supply, its kept up here and well protected as a valuable resource.
Close up of some town folk planning their next move. An extra ammunitions box and a sleeping man can be seen.
Here's the towns Techs-Pert (Variation of expert haha), he takes care of the towns communication/electricity with other outpost and is able to listen in on others by tuning into their wavelength.
Front view. As you can see there is a thick concrete door finished off with sheet metal. Its about 18 inches thick! (in lego inches that is), its sure to keep out any intruders, theres a little lookout hole just incase.
These four were sent out on an expedition to gather resources for the town, they've been gone for almost 3 weeks, much longer then expected. Their return may explain why everyone in town looks so cheerful. You wouldn't exactly be very joyous in a world like this but under this occasion its understandable. They've brought back plenty of water and the yellow thing seen in the smaller brown box is a rock known as Milletrite, a natural resource found underground (hence the digging tools) which is used to supply the town with power.
The garden which is used to grow food.
This area is where the younger people spend their time (also use your imagination and picture them going to the surroundings of the town rather then just staying in this one little area haha) and yes there are pets in this town too :). The two kids in at the back are supposedly playing some type of board game.
An alternate angle showing the staircase.
Say hello to the town cook, she takes care of all the cooking duties along with the other two in the garden.
Now to enter the first floor. This is the infirmary, up top you'll see a military grade first aid kit (picked up on one of the their many expeditions.
Here's a bunk bed with two sleepy heads. 3 spots isn't exactly enough for all the inhabitants, but~ you'll just have to picture them sleeping all over the place.
Here's the town tinkerer and his assistant. They take care of weapon repairs, upgrades, vehicles and whatever else you can imagine.
Alternate angle showing his tools and a soldering iron.
The town armoury, in a post apoc world its always good to have weapons other then guns, as you know guns do run out of bullets.
This is area where collectibles are kept, whatever is found and looks to be worth keeping or trading is kept here (he 1by1 tiles are meant to be photos/books). A key, a ship in a bottle, a bank card and a mysterious glowing shard are a few things that can be seen.
Last alternate view
Well thats it folks. Overall this took about a week to make and roughly 2-3 hours of daily work, like usual i went though aloooooooooooooooot of changes and if anything this could have been done in 3 days if you exclude all the time i took rearranging parts and completely changing the colour scheme.
Thank you all for coming to this page :)! Feel free to comment :D!
