Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II 'Warthog' . A small-scale rendering of the iconic ground attack aircraft. . This is my first project on MOCpages and I think one of the coolest models I have made. The A-10 is my favorite military aircraft and I saw it as great inspiration for a Lego model. It is made from 32 pieces and is 141 times smaller than the real thing. It uses several design techniques including SNOT for the tail and using a minifigure hand as the seven-barrel 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling-type cannon. I think the Lego rocket engine pieces quite closely resemble the two General Electric TF34-GE-100A turbofans and that the design of the cockpit captures its unique shape. I also built one with classic nose warpaint. This model is also to scale with the nanofigure trophy element. Every day this model patrols the skies over my Lego display shelf and provides ground support to the star wars clone troopers that never seem to be able to advance across the battlefield... **I have made this model from looking at a picture of the real thing. Please provide me with credit if you are going to use the design or photographs.**
