Carmelita, The Blue Bayou TseTse Fly... BCBS Rd3 . Beware, Gentilhommes, let cette Cajun BonBon kiss You and You will enter the Eternal Sleep... . for her Kiss brings the Bedtime Blues, a deadly Sleeping Sickness! Oh, but You would sleep with your Lips in a Smile, You say! Oui, okay, You were warned… forget about it… laissez les bons temps rouler! CARMELITA (and her SECRET, heh, heh, heh, SURPRISE at the end) are my entry into the BCBS’s Month of July Challenge Build #3: "Alien Zone!" After building several Bionicles in various shades of blue, then tearing them apart, I finally built two that were keepers. So, wanting to use up my left-over blue Bionicle pieces, was how Carmelita was fashioned. Yah, she’s humanoid, but just BE PATIENT and wait for the SECRET, heh, heh, heh, SURPRISE at the end! Don’t let Carmelita’s color of blue lull you into a false sense of security! Although, her lips ARE sealed for the moment… they can be deadly! Now, you may be wondering how Carmelita acquired the ability to cause the Bedtime Blues? Well, like all Luzianne Bayou Gals, she is proud of her heritage which she ‘claims’ is… Cajun French, Spanish, and a blend of other ‘Obscure’ Origins! Naturally, because of her name, most people get fixated on the Spanish part of her so-called ‘heritage’. But WAKE-UP people… she’s BLUE and she’s a FLY… ALIEN! Now bayous are just swamps. And everybody’s heard about swamp gas and swamp lights… ALIENS! So you see… the sickness of which Carmelita is a vector is not just due to some kind of ordinary VooDoo HooDoo Curse. It’s caused by an ALIEN VIRUS! This ALIEN VIRUS is being spread silently through the southern bayou states by infected humans and human/alien hybrids like Carmelita! Dun, da, dun, dun! Bayou Buzz Saws Are Her Weapons of Choice! Now you may be wondering why Carmelita would choose Buzz Saws? Buzz Saws are NOISY! Stay with me hear… I mean here… all will be revealed! Bayou Buzz Saws Can Cut Thru Dense Vegetation In The Deepest Part Of The Bayou Where Human/Alien Rendezvous Tend To Take Place! These saws employ some kind of advanced Alien Power Technology, silent to human ears! If there are sounds humans DO sometimes hear, they are just those that mimic the rhythmic calls of the bayou frogs and the katydids! But, it is said that Aliens can hear the sound of the saws and that their sounds are the songs of the Ancient Alien Bards. When Carmelita powers up her saws, her Mask of Translation allows her to understand all the heroic ballads of her Toa Ancestors… whatever they are! If you are lucky, Carmelita will simply leave you sleepily dreaming or meditating on your thoughts… Some of you will be frightened… Some of you will be confused… AND… Some of you will wish for another kiss! Not surprisingly one of those wishing fools is the attention-deprived Indi Uma!. Now, wait just one minute! How did he get to Earth… banished here through same kinda wormhole? Amy Io must have really been angry with him! Yes, Indi, IS Blue! But this DOES NOT give him any special protection against the virus! “Indi, you idiot, it’s not safe! She’s dangerous! She’s infected! Oh, no… and it looks like it’s going to be a French Kiss too!” “Mothers cover your little-ones eyes! Sing them a lullaby! Put them to sleep! They shouldn’t see what is about to happen! “ For those of you still watching… Please wait a moment while I attach my camera to my handy-dandy portable electron microscope for better viewing! Keep Scrolling… Adjustments are being made… Focus and Light issues resolved… “Heh, heh, heh… Hola! I’m one of the ALIEN VIRUS particles currently residing in Carmelita’s saliva along with a whole slew of my compadres. “ “Now, I’m not in my ‘living’ state, ‘cuz I’m waiting to be transported to this foolish blue dude who is just another unsuspecting victim that has fallen to Carmelita’s charms. But just an hour ago me and my other ALIEN VIRUS COMPADRES were in our ‘living’ states reproducing with Carmelita’s own cellular DNA replication process, as if our existence depended on it! Heh, heh, heh… as a matter of fact… it does! When me and my compadres get into this blue dude’s biosystem, we’ll shed our protective protein armors and become ‘alive’ again and start reproducing! Heh, heh, heh… we love DNA! Sometimes we even have a WILD PARTY and MUTATE! Heh, heh, heh! “ “Heh, heh… Do you like my cell membrane surface attachment stalk? It’s waving Bye-Bye at you!!” 4th Wall: I guess this all coalesced because two of my favorite artists are Warren Zevon and Linda Ronstadt! Zevon was a rare genius and died too young. Ronstadt showed a pride in her own heritage by recording her ‘Canciones De Mi Padre’ album. Now Zevon wrote a song entitled ‘Carmelita’ and Ronstadt had a hit with a song Roy Orbison wrote entitled ‘Blue Bayou’. And, both Warren and Linda preformed ‘Carmelita’! Now that I’ve used all my blue bio pieces, does this mean my ‘Blue’ Period is over? Only time will tell! :)
