Octan 'Centipede' Space Truck . A space fuel delivery vehicle. . Alpha Sigma 3 was a planet with abundant oil producing bacteria, so successful was this life form that after millions of years the planet was covered in huge lakes and seas of oil. Unfortunately the planet was hit by a massive meteorite that smashed it to pieces. Humanity arrived hundreds of thousands of years later and discovered the seas of oil had frozen into asteroids of all sizes made almost entirely of crude oil. Soon the petroleum companies arrived, refineries were set up on a nearby Mars like planet and the mining of the asteroids began! The 'Centipede' is the Octan space vehicle a civilian is most likely to see, it carries fuel supplies from local planetary refineries to the fuel station that your average Joe public uses to fill his hovercar or orbital shuttle craft. Its manoeuvrability is crucial in the tight high allies of modern metropolises. Built: 2003 Current Status: Dissembled.
