Despite the redemption of the Sand Tribe by Mata-Nui, some Vorox were either never converted back, devolved back into bestiality on purpose, or turned that way by what some rumours claim to be a makuta in hiding. To "Strider", this is irrelevant. The Vorox are a threat to matoran homesteads and a scourge to be eradicated.
While he is now a member of the Dark Hunters, he still performs his Duty similarly to how he operated in the KoSM - as a Hunter and Guardian of the Sand People. Now, he collects bounties on wanted criminals and dangerous rahi as well as the Vorox that threaten his kin.
Keos' armour is made up of Vorox chitin and pieces of his old armour from his days in the Knights of Spherus Magna, before its collapse.
On his shoulder is the head of Iachxtu, a notoriously strong Vorox Matriarch, who Keos fought with for an entire night and day. His sword is made up of her stingers. Both of them.
"Strider"'s double-barreled shotgun packs a decent punch... Those grounded up Thornax pods bang somethin' fierce... but it's the Stinger Sword he relies on to take down his mark up close and pers'nal.
As he is half glatorian, half matoran, Keos had difficulties accessing his powers when he became a toa. The Arc-Focus Engine, designed by Gringat and built by Iconoxian engineers, is one of many such devices that help toa access The Weave. Keos' Engine is broken, but he can still will sand and dust around.
His mask is the Mask of Scavenging. Matoran consider this one of the "immoral" masks, though Keos counters this by having an immoral job as well. Ain't no better way to cure a Vorox sting than its own life essence.
Striding across the Badlands...
And a shot of ALL of the MOCs of the 2012 Bio-Cup. Or at least the ones I have. Plus Gringat. Couldn't fit all of them even by converting my entire work desk into a lightbox. >.<
"Strider" started life as the potential rider for my "Junk-Ride" MOC in round three, but ended up being far too big for what I had planned. After a long session of greebling and building, he's done - possibly one of my most complex and over-greebled MOCs to date, to fit his wasteland-ish theme. He fits "Best-MOC" in being one of the best of the sort of MOCs I do best: Exotic, large scale toa.
On the model, the lower arms are supposed to look bare, and the chestplate has muscle shapes built into it like an ancient Greek or Roman one. Head design by Banjax2077 heavily tweaked by me, to give him a hordika helmet as a mask.
I had severe time constraints to think of. The contest actually ends in two weeks, giving Nick and Monarth more than enough time to beat me, but what with my currently writing this from my new room at University, I can't really stick behind to build something bigger.
Various ideas I had for this were Tolus the Waterlord riding a giant man-o-war, Alkanus the toa of fuel riding a giant flaming morobike, a Korrothean Garden of Twilight Biorama and loads of others I just didn't have time for. I had actually given up on the contest for a while, then realised I had to reach the end, or it just wouldn't be right.
It's been brilliant fun in the contest, and in fact all of these past years I've been on the 'pages. I have a few MOCs left to post, still, but I'm afraid you'll see my supply dry up before too long... I'm too far away from all my legoes to make anything. Likely it will just be a few chibis and LDD MOCs, though I'll still be sure to keep poking my nose into what everyone else is doing. :P
