Uncharted 2: Nate vs. Lazarevic . "Why won't you DIE?!"
"You can NOT stand in the way of destiny!" . A custom LEGO vignette of the final boss fight in Uncharted 2: Among Theives, with Nathan Drake facing off against Zoran Lazarević at the roots at the tree of life.
(NOTE: Nathan Drake's custom decals were designed by my sister, Maegan Stebbins (Maverick-Werewolf on SSLF). I made the rest. Don't forget to visit the Decal Shop!)

Resolved to stop the insane, evil mercenary warlord Zoran Lazarević from using the power of Shambhala's "tree of life" for his own ends, Nathan Drake ventures down to the roots of the tree to face him. Drake watches, horrified, as Lazarević drinks water from the pool at the base of the tree, which is full of the tree's glowing resin. The liquid heals his terribly scarred arm and face.
The warlord seems to sense Nate watching and taunts him to fight. But Drake knows he is outgunned, so he instead shoots the explosive resin, killing all of the mercenaries in one blast. But Lazarević rises from the ashes, full of rage. Drake is forced into a desperate chase as the madman, seemingly immune to damage or pain, pursues him.
A lot of people seemed disappointed by the boss fight at the end of Uncharted 2, complaining that it was too hard and/or gimmicky. But I, for one, love a good hard gimmicky boss fight! It's a classic staple of video games, and they're fun! In fact, I just wish the fight had been harder. You should see my sister wipe out Lazarević on Crushing difficulty in less than two minutes...
This custom LEGO vignette depicts Nate leaping down from a ledge, shooting at the bulge of sap on the tree behind Lazarević, which is the only way (besides grenades) that the player can hurt him. Lazarević, meanwhile, prepares to throw a cluster of grenades. "Incoming!"
I updated my sister Maegan's custom Nathan Drake minifig for this vig. We had been looking for a more fitting hairpiece for the hero for a while. This is a modified and painted version of the spiky hair used in some of the collectible LEGO minifigures bags. The front was left spiky to give Nate his distinctive heroic profile.
I left Lazarević pretty much the same, though obviously I used the "healed" version of his face decal.
This vignette was built as an example of the kind of entry I'm looking for in my new LEGO Duel Vignette Contest:
