HLD-4 "Warden" . "'Warden?' You sure? Ain't that a bit at odds with the whole 'don't take no prisoners' feel we were goin' for?" "Maybe. But I prefer to think of it more along the lines of 'nothing escapes'" . The HLD-4 Warden is a Heavy Light Armored Shell intended to withstand multiple hits from enemy fire. While its basic armor is nothing incredible, the addition of energy conversion panels on a few of its surfaces have lead some to jokingly diagnose the HLD-4 as borderline masochistic. With these panels, the Warden can not only take a beating, but it can also absorb and use the energy to power its own systems. However, due to the expensive and inflexible nature of the panels, it was deemed too costly to employ them on the entire unit and it was determined that the addition of shoulder plates and a shield would suffice. The inclusion of a broadsword and pistols completed the unit's close-range arsenal. Statistics: Designation: HLD-4 Warden Height at Shoulder: 25 Feet Weight: 11 Tons Primary Functions: Front-line defense and close-to-mid-range support Power: PSR-1440 Rechargeable Energy Cells Top Speed: 65 MPH (Supplemented by RT-6's) Other Equipment: T313-PRT Hand-Mounted Transport Beacons, AB50-RB Osmosive Shoulder Plates, RT-6 Sprinter Thrusters Weaponry: EA-3 Sponge Osmosive Shield, BEB-7 Samson Broadsword, ECP-24 Gemini Bolt Caster Pistols T131-PRT Transport Beacons allow unused weaponry to be located off-unit in a PO0-F Hammerspace Weapon Conveyance Locker. The Warden's Non-Energetic Reactive Armor absorbs impact in a layer of rubberized polycarbonate sandwiched between armor plates. AB50-RB Shoulder Plates provide protection for the pilot's vulnerable head from both sides while converting any energy exerted on them into power. The PSR-1440 Energy Cells power everything on the HLD-4 from motor control to weapons and even the Sprinters. The Sponge Osmosive Shield uses the same energy conversion panels as the AB50-RB Plates and, when in use, is mounted length-wise on the Warden's left arm. Samson's particle beam will slice through almost anything it comes into contact with. If the Warden is running low on energy, the rough, diamond tipped serrated back edge can be used for tearing through armor. The ECP-24 Gemini are the HLD-4's only means of ranged combat. However, these double-action bolt casters are powerful enough to punch sizable holes in medium armor while frying any vulnerable electronics they can find. The successors to the RCP-12's, the Gemini are useful in immobilizing units for the Samson to finish off. Who's that handsome devil in the pilot block? NOTES: I know that everyone has totally been holding their breath just wondering when I was going to post something next, but you can all breathe freely now that I have. You're welcome, World! I would have had this done sooner, but the torso gave me no end of fits. In the end, though, I think it turned out better as a whole for it. I had played with the idea of having something on the back upon which to mount the sword and shield, but after a while I decided it would look stupid and that's why you got the much more creative (That's what you call something you throw together at the last minute, right?) lampshade hanging of a teleportation device. That's also why you got the energy cells and thrusters which I wouldn't have had room for otherwise. Anyway, comments and constructive criticism are welcome as always. P.S. For those of you who don't know, Hammerspace.
