Space Pirate Ship . Greetings all, it's been a while since I uploaded any of my creations, so I thought I'd share one of my recent creations with you. This is my attempt at a space ship for pirates, who look a bit steampunk-ish. Now it is fair to mention that the design of the ship isn't entirely my own idea. I was inspired by a couple of creations I saw on Brickshelf (since it's been a while, I don't quite remember the nicknames of the people, but I'll add their names as soon as I find them). For the ship's haul I decided to use variations of grey and brown, to make it look old and battered, since the pirates use all their space money to get wenches and mead, instead of taking care of the ship. :) . The top view. I don't know why, but with those rear "thins" and flags on the top it kind of reminds me of a shark. Which falls into context perfectly :P The side thrusters. Using barrels came out better than I first expected. The side view with the top taken off. I thought I'd incorporate the technic tubes as power supply for the cannons. The rear engines. I know they are boxy and leave something to be desired, but in my defence, spaceships aren't my strong suit. The bottom view with the entrance ramp pulled down. After adding the landing gear the angle of the ramp unfortunately came out a bit steep, but to make it less steep I'd have to change the bottom and make the ramp longer, which would be a pain in the "you know what". The panels on the side of the wings open up on both sides to reveal the inside. In this case, this is from the side of the entrance ramp with the door to the main part of the ship closed. (We're talking about sliding doors, cliché, I know :P) The other side reveals the storrage area. There's not much to say about it, I just cramped it with boxes and tanks. Now we come to the landing gear. Again, this is not exactly what I was going for in terms of how it looks, but I'll put some practice into making these things and try to make it better next time. Now we come to the inside. This is the main control room at the front of the ship with the captain sitting in his "space throne". You might ask why do they need such a big supply of weapons in the control room, rather than in the main room or in the storage? Well, they're pirates, they can do whatever the heck they want. :P This is an unneeded picture, but I just wanted to show off the sliding doors, because it's such a fresh idea (sarcasm intended). The main room. Now there's a lot to this room, but unfortunately I couldn't take the best pictures with my camera, as it is a piece of trash. From this room you can enter the main control room, the storage room, the hall to the entrance ramp, and in the far back the engine room. This is also where the sleeping quarters are (which are just beds built into the haul of the ship. We also have a retracting medical bed and an "instant clean-yourself-anator" The engine room. There's not a lot to say about it, it needs many fire extinguishers, since they tend to neglect the technical problems with more or less everything on the ship. Finally, we come to the crew. A bunch of scurvy dogs and lasses, a good for nothing band of immoral criminals with an inferiority complex which drives their insane plans to ruin lives of many decent hard working space people and aliens alike. Remember the retractable medical bed mentioned earlier? Here it is, it isn't much but then again, they're made of plastic, they don't get sick much. The final picture. The famous "instant wash-yourself-anator". It's broken. It doesn't work. These pirates don't shower. Ever.
